Barry,I'm glad you are around here to ask dumb ass questions so that I can learn something also  That is something I have been trying to figure out myself. Thankyou very much.  :bowingsmilie:  :bowingsmilie: cc

:alscalls: Carl you are welcome and I sure as [L] didn't expect a response like this one.   Someone once said," there are no dumb questions", their only problem was they never knew a Canadian :innocentwhistle:.

Barry,

While you have the ebay picture you want on screen, hold the shift button and press the Prt Sc button. Now open Paint, click edit, paste, save as, then the name and place you want it saved.

Is this kinda what you are wanting?

Appreciate it Mike but I kinda want to save the words too.  I'm thinking I'll be using what the fellows are helping me out with on the camera thread to take snapshots of some pages :eyebrow:.

Just something more else to think about Barry. Once you have your pics on your computer you can open a free Photo Bucket acc't. Actually as many as you like. One could be hand tools. One could be power tools. Vehicles,, etc,,etc. Save all your pics in those accounts then delete them from your computer. Now you won't lose your pics if your puter  :puke: on you. You just need to remember your PB account info & all will be good. Diane & I have 4 or 5 accounts.

Not trying to add anything to the list today. Just an idea for tomorrow maybe.

Glen I had to get the paid account at the bucket cause this site was eating up all the band width.   :madd:  Thanks for the help though

Barry,

Doing the shift-Prt Sc then pasting to paint does save the words too. It takes a snapshot of what's on your screen just as if you done it with a camera, kinda sorta.

OK Mike I' gonna be trying that later. Right now I'm going to go see about a FORD 1/2 ton that an old fellow wants to sell.  Temp is 14F and I'm outta the house for a while today :yoyo: :yoyo:.

They really said that?  :laf: Your posting too many pics on Fins and Fur?

Jim that idea will work fine and I have a few pages saved that way .  The one I mentioned is an ebay page and after their auction is over all the good stuff is removed :argh:. Kinda/sorta why I wanted to save a snapshot of some of them :readthis:.  I've found ebay and other auction type sites to be a really good source for studying up on old artifacts.
This isnt a problem either.
With Firefox click on "File" then "Save page as".
When the save dialog box comes up make sure you save it as a complete page, as indicated by the pink arrow. It might automatically be filled out for you.

And then name the actual page whatever you want where the green arrow is pointing.

What this will do is capture all image files, and all content, and place it all in a folder wherever you save it to. You can then rename the folder later to whatever you want for filing or sorting your stuff.

When you open the folder if you double click the file that is titled index, or home...it will open the page up locally and self sufficiently meaning your not on the web looking at it. And it will appear just as it did on the web.

When I get to this point, "When you open the folder if you double click the file that is titled index, or home...it will open the page up locally and self sufficiently meaning your not on the web looking at it. And it will appear just as it did on the web." ,  I don't find an index or home.  Just a folder with all a bunch of small files in it.  I don't read this

If you performed all this with Firefox, the file you want to double click will actually be named whatever you put in the file name field indicated by the green arrow in my pic.

So in other words, if you named the file sausage-mcmuffin, then the files name will be sausage-mcmuffin instead of index or home.

Another thing you should know is that all the files images etc, that are needed to show you the page will be in the folder that is created where you saved the page to. The actual file that you will be double clicking wont be IN that folder.
When you double click the file sausage-mcmuffin.htm it uses the files in that folder to show you the page.

Mike you are my hero :bowingsmilie:  Only took me a week but I finally managed to find the "Prt Sc button", I was looking on the page for it :doh2:.  I was chatting with Art and he said his was beside the F12 button on the key board.  I'll be dabed if mine weren't there too .
Thanks guys.
Now don't be telling me what I'm doing is illegal cause I'm in a good mood. :pout:
