Just returned from the Copper River, the salmon run and dip netting were good this year. Left Thursday night after work and returned late Friday night, 40 hours of no sleeping and a lot of fish catching.  We caught 90 fish and were only on the water about 6-7 hours I think, the rest of the time was cleaning, grabbing something to eat and heading back out.  Everything is wrapped and frozen and will be smoked next weekend.  We have our winters salmon and it was a great day.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Great looking country, John.   That water looks pretty cloudy.  Is that glacier melt water?

Pretty awesome!  I'd be constantly looking over my back at shore.  Those big bears of yours enjoy salmon too! :laf:  Beautiful country, and a wonderful day for sure!

Great post, John.  What kind are they?  I'm thinking silvers (guessing more because of the time of year).
You are liviing the dream up there - dip your net in the water and the fish just swim on in! And the hell with sleepin - you can do that in the winter.

Tikaani

They are reds (sockeyes) Dave, silvers have started though in some areas.
