I was back up in the Adirondacks to climb some more mountains and do a bit of turkey hunting over the weekend. I went to the High Peaks on Friday and returned to the Moose River Plains to find out my camping party left me high and dry. It seems they couldn't stand the black flies any longer and packed it in by 3. So I stayed another night and did some trapline scouting on Saturday Morning. I found this guy wallowing around and munching on some swamp goodies. The way he kept shaking his head it looked like the flies were getting to him too. I found some great looking areas to trap in November along with an awesome campsite. I also found some bear tracks, but this was a first for me. Very cool!!

Black flies are something that you can keep up north.  The last picture looks like he spotted you.
