So first thing this morning I hop into the ford ready to do battle, I mean work for the company, my fly rod which is 9 feet long is poking over the front seat, so I hop in and feel a sting in my ear, look in the rear view mirror and have hooked my ear on the fish hook on the end of the pole….:(….after a few seconds of reflection to plan my escape, I tugged gently, nope, she’s a-holding on…wiggle the hook, no escape, finally I took the old military mantra and put it into effect, “ A wrong action is better than no action at all”… and popped the hook out of my ear, along with a chunk of Me, and drove into work holding a hunting glove to my ear to staunch the blood flow…...for anyone wondering it was a Muddler Minnow...now I kinda know how the fish feels!...:)

:nono: your actually kinda lucky it was your ear and not some other part of your face since the ear is mostly cartilage. But I'm sure it still sucked. lol

I think i can get ssdi now!!!!

Okanagan

One of my all-time favorite flies!  Glad to hear that it is still effective on the big ones.  I've caught some BIG western rainbows on it but didn't know if it worked in the NE as well.

Hang on to that fly.  It is blooded and a proven lure.  Those are always the best flies.

I just realized after all these years why the babes used to nibble on my ears, I have some damn sexy ears!

Okanagan, When I was a kid and i just started flyfishing the only fly I used for the first two or three years was a Muddler! And caught plenty of fish.

Hawks Feather

I am guessing that this is the biggest "thing" that you have caught with your fly rod.

I'm thinking the same thing Jerry, and it's also the ONLY thing that has ever bit his NOT sexy ears. :alscalls:
