Well, myself and 3 other guys are headed back down to Texas in about 7 hrs. Gonna try and cut there pig population down by about a dozen or so.  Probably do a little callin too for the heck of it.  I told the guy if it floods down there again, he better have a boat lined up, cause we're gonna do some huntin one way or the other. :laf: I'll probably check back in before I crash, but then I think I'll be away from the computer until Tues. night when we get back. You all have a great Labor Day weekend!

Well, made er back from Texas. The weather cooperated nicely with us this time.  :thumb2: One guy got three pigs, one got two, another got one. Myself, I missed one with my bow the first night, not quite sure what happened, I believe I shot right over his back :mad2: It's a little different shooting at night with a hawg light. The second day saw a lot of pigs, but only had opportunities at smaller ones. The third day I decided to take my .204 and do a little stalking. I had some bust outta some tall weeds, and one made the mistake of stoppin and turnin around to take a look back. A head shot dropped him in his tracks. I prefer to do it with my bow, but it was still a good time.  At night I only had a few smaller ones come in. The one friend of mine shot a big pig in some thick weeds as we were coming up to a small pond, the pig shot off, jumped about ten feet out into the pond. We were standing around it wondering where he was gonna pop up at, but he never did.  :shck:  :doh2:  I didn't get a chance to take many pictures, but here are a few.

A couple pics of lodge

Our transportation  :yoyo:

This little guy I about stepped on crossin this dry creek bed

My scragly, gnarly boar. He ended up having a little somthin wrong with him, and didn't have any good meat on him.  :doh2:

Anyways, had a good time, thought I'd share a little with ya.

That looks like a nice place you were at,,maybe that Pig that went into the Pond had a Drager Unit Stashe on the Bottom of the Pond,so he could make the Great Escape  :laf:
What was the Problem that your Hog had no edible meat on it ??? an infection ??? what did the Beast you shot, weigh ???
Did the Lodge sell Bows also, because I see a few Bow manufacturers Banners on the walls ??? Thank you for sharing the Pics

Cool pics.
That mounted coyote looks like he had whatever your pig had.  :laf:

Seriously though, that has to suck to go through all that, get a hog and not be able to harvest it. Ya still got the memory of the hunt I realize, but how's it taste? Probably not as good as that wild hog would.

Thanks for sharing it, looks like ya had fun :congrats:

Thanks for posting the pics, Scott. I never shot a hog, but I might have just have to put that on my list now.

Bob, it is a pretty nice place. That pig that went under the water was the craziest thing.  :nono:  My boar had evidently been shot before, had infection, and was really skinny. We didn't get a weight on it. It was plenty hot out, so when we shot one, the guide would bring it back and get it cut up, and we would keep huntin. The owner of the place also owned an archery shop in a town near by.
Jim, I shot two last year at a different place that were 100 to 125 pounds, I got some brats done, tenderloins, and smoked the hams, and they all tasted great. A friend shot one that went probably 225, we cut it up and brought it home, but it stunk so bad he through it out.
Dirtydog make sure ya let us know when ya go.
Brad, I would recommend it, it really is fun.
Thanks all, it was a good time.
