My Workshop

I said in "my first calls for sale" post that I would put up some pictures of my workshop. We recently moved and we are in the city limits. I was unable to build a large workshop without going the permit process. And since I still have a septic tank, I knew that the permit would not be approved for anything very large. So, trying to make the best of it, I put in a "Tuff Shed". It is only 10x12, but that is all I can put in without a permit. I hope to get another one maybe next year, that I can put the table saw and miter saw in. That would open up a lot of possibilities. But for now, I am pretty content with what I have. My cabinets are all the Lowe's variety. I got the unfinished ones and oiled them, as they are the cheapest.  I have done some rearranging since I took these pictures. I have an extension on the lathe, the scroll saw in on the bench and the grinder is on a stand at the end of the lathe. And the dust collector has been replaced by a large shop vac, which works quite well.
All in all, it is working out pretty well. Here are the pictures. And before anyone says anything, yea, there are a lot of outlets. I thought I may as well put one on each stud and have a lot, rather than want an extra after it is done. The shop is insulated, lined with a 3/8" plywood, walls and ceiling, and has a small air conditioner mounted in the wall. Not sure what I am going to do for heat this winter. I also have 4 double tube four foot fluorescents for light.

That is a very nice shop.  Good storage areas in the cabinnets, and a plenty of bench top room.  I like the electrical outlets, that is the way a shop should have them.

Uhmmmmm, the third outlet on the left is off by an 1/8th of an inch with the rest.    It has been my experience there might just be enough play in the screws to adjust it.

Shop?  That is WAY to fancy to be called a shop.  That looks more like a home to me.      My only thought on the outlets was - there is a man that knows what he is doing.

Good lookin shop! Someday I'll get one put up. Until then, it's a couple a feet space in front of the Yukon in my garage, a couple a extension cords, and the hood of my truck for a table.
