Seed Ticks or Turkey Mites

If you've ever been chewed on by seed ticks, also called turkey mites, you know that you can receive several bites and they itch. They itch BAD! THEY DON'T STOP ITCHING!!
I was in the woods this past weekend. I had my pants tucked into my boots and my shirt tucked in my pants. I had a short sleeve shirt on. I must have set in a nest of those things on one of my stands. I probably have 75 bites on my left arm from my neck to my wrist.
Then, when they started to itch, my wife told me to put Antifungal Cream (for athletes foot) on it. I didn't think that was a good idea at the time.
The next day, when they were itching BAD, I tried it. The Antifungal Cream stopped the itch almost immediately. I was amazed. They have even healed up faster than the 2-3 weeks it usually takes.
I would guess it probably works for chiggers or any other bug bite that leaves you scratching. Maybe even poison ivy. Give it a try.

I HOPE I never have to use it though.     I am REAL familiar with seed ticks (nymph stage of the Lonestar tick) at the LBL.   Years and years ago (I am old ya know)  me and two buddies were bow hunting in late September at LBL.   It was hot and one of my buddies had to go to the hospital.  He was completely covered up with seed  ticks!

I only had a couple hundred on me.   

I've set down turkey hunting at LBL and had an army of 'em start marching up my boot.  I decided I didn't need a turkey that bad and left.

Dang you Reb's have some of the damnest bugs down there.      Hearing stories like that makes me want to move futher north. 

Sure glad ya got something to take care of it. 

My Dad came across the idea to use Vicks Vapor Rub on skeeter bites that were driving ya nuts itchen.

Bop, you know I can't post that on here. Alscalls might think you're gay or something.

My wife dosen't remember where she heard it a long time ago.
But you can bet it'll be my "go to" medicine if I get a bad itch.

Antifungal cream is also good for spider bites. Not for an itch, but for the fungus in their saliva that makes  the meat start to rot.

Joe-- I scratch them skeeter bites then put rubbing alcohol on em.    It stings a little but not so bad a 4yr old can't handle it.
