  Well, I went and done it. Tore my ACL and meniscus in my right knee playin church basketball. And just when I started gettin a groove.   I will be back soon. Doc said it would be 6 months, but I'm going to push it.

I wouldnt push it ,you could just make it even longer. You wont to be brand new again so you can walk up and down all those hills and ridges chasing yotes and not down because you didnt listen. Good luck on a speedy recovery

Sorry to be so brash, but that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard! 
Knowing what I know now I'd give it 7 months & that's just to start walking.
I blew my knee out in '74 & never know one day to the next when it might pop out again. 
Of course modern medical science is further ahead now, but the body doesn't heal any faster.
You do as that Doc says & let that knee heal up right! 
I'll be praying for ya.
