A ramp is a flower bulb......It tastes like real strong garlic and onion mix.....frying them weakens the strength yet you can smell them the next day even on a persons sweat if the have eaten them. They go great with fish, steak, chicken, hamburger. or for some brave souls even raw on a salad. I love em!!

Taste hmm well think of an onion the had a wild night with a garlic clove and that should come close they are great fried with taters and eggs why around here we have ramp burgers ramp pizza ramp spagetti you name they most likely make it with ramps they grow all over the applachins in areas why here in pocahontas county WV they grow on one side of the greenbriar river but not the other as far as huntin them they arent all that hard to find in the areas they grow its almost like a carpet of them in the forest and takes very little time for 1 or 2 folks to dig several busshel as for how they grow they sprout usually one of the first greens to be found coming up have dug tons in the snow that get interesting. the earlier you get them the smaller they are and the milder the taste once they get to big then we stop diggin cause they can get pretty stout tastein .

Hey Al. Come up here. We can drive around and dig 'em mostly by the road. Just don't eat one in the truck.  :puke: LOL! Seriously though, we will chop up the bulbs and use them to season eggs, taters, and venison, as well as other things.
