Aerial maps

Some of you have been posting aerial photos of hunting grounds, that I'm assuming aren't from the on site map feature.
What are you using?

I downloaded Google Earth, and I've tried Terra server. Can't get close enough with any of those and get a clear image like some of you are.

I used whatever is found under the button here on site. Though I did find out something else about that same site. I was going to look at some of the places I hunt in the LBL but it wouldn't let me. It wouldn't zoom in close enough to show any detail, it looked blurry when I got a close up view.

Thanks, that must be my problem. I knew I was too deep in the boondocks to get good shots with ours here on the site. I thought maybe some of you folks were to, and found a different one that let you close in more and still get a clear shot.

I did manage to find some aerial photos online a while back, that seemed to be nothing more then photographs that offered pretty good clarity. I might have to see if I can search them up again. I think the newest shots were from 1996

Any airial photo is a good one as long as you can see the terrain features. I don't worry so much about being able to tell if it is woods or thicket and short brush.It's those dips and hollows in the fields we need to see.

Learn to use them by looking at ground you know very well. You already know where the creeks and such are and it is good practice for learning.You also know what is growing in those places and can learn to pick out familiar things when you look over other sites.

What I would like to find are the old airial photos of the LBL that were taken during the early spring one year. They have it on the war room wall in the main offices. Yep one whole wall of nothing but an airial view of the place.

The sat feature Jim has a link too is good enough but I haven't looked over the LBL with it yet. I need plenty of puter time to do that. It should get close enough to tell where they have planted fields and mowed others. I could see my neighbors buckskin horse and cattel and tell them apart but that was it. Jimmie

I get mine from tax mapping software that the govt needs to provide.  it is allways there.  easy to use and allways updatable.  plus I can find out who owns a certian peice of property and the address of where they live.  just go to google and type in your county with tax mapper or tax mappin software behind it.  I have found a lot of good property this way.
