Today was opening day for gun deer hunting in Kaintuckee.   One of my most favoritest days of the year.

I saw a little button buck and a 3 pointer early and then, with a few grunt calls, got this guy to show up.  Put a 100gr .243 in his neck (the only part I could see of him in the jungle I hunt in) at 60 yards.  Field dressed 181 pounds,  8 pointer, 19 inch outside spread, 17 1/2 inch inside spread,  aged at 3 1/2 years old by the KY Fish and Wildlife biologist who was checking deer at the deer processor I took him to.   The biologist said he was one of the healthiest looking 3 1/2 year olds he's seen.  I know he's going to be some good eatin'.    :eyebrownod:

O'' Bop wasn't around but my Honda 4 wheeler was.  :eyebrownod:   With out that 4 wheeler I'd have to quit deer hunting.  My draggin' muscles are all dragged out.  :laf:

pitw...... yep, the ground is some what flat for about 175 yards.   :eyebrownod:

Hawks Feather

Congrats!  That is a nice looking buck.  I really wished that Ohio would open up gun season to rifles.  It is still shotgun, black powder, or archery.  Again, nice deer.
