Good luck guys and be careful.

Right now we are having a fairly heavy rain, which will make things around here a real mess.  It was already wet.  Forecast is for more rain tomorrow, which will make sitting out in a woods even more fun.  So yea, I am heading out.

Bill,

I have been telling the rain to go NORTH, like straight north and not remain in Ohio at all.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Coyote Kate & I scoped out a new farm & there were deer freeways all over!  :eyebrow:
Seriously thought about going to Walmart & getting a tag. :wo:  There are things to do today & I gotta go to work this afternoon so I didn't ..... Thank God! :sneer:
Boy is it cold & miserable out! :rolleye:

FinsnFur

I'm kinda contemplating it myself.
Usually I got people asking me if I want a deer or two, this year not very many people seen any.

The one year I was actually gonna say, yeah I'll take one, no one comes through. :laf:
I was hoping to learn how to grind me some burger.

The swarms of hunters haven't been out around here which means that I still haven't had a shot.  I heard about 10 shots yesterday and a normal first day is closer to 50.  Then today there were 6 shots.  Maybe tomorrow and then again maybe not.

Jerry

HaMeR

Not many shots heard round here either Jerry.   I let a big fat button buck walk this AM around 10:30. Then as I was getting ready to get out of the tree stand here he came again.   So I watched him for about 15 minutes trying to get a pic of him,, which didn't pan out,, & waiting for him to walk off & the damn thing laid down 40yds from my stand.  :laf:  I lowered the ML to the ground & went down the ladder with my back to him. I hunched over & untied the gun & went up the hill like that. When I got to the top I found a vantage point & he was still laying there.  :laf:  I let the little feller have a pass today.

At 40 yards he would have been hanging in the skinning shed if it were me.  Not as much meat as a full grown, but tastes good.

Jerry

HaMeR

He had a bigger body than most button bucks so I let him walk. I'll be buck hunting another couple days then I'll pop a doe. I figured as big as he was he might grow up to be a dandy buck in a couple years. I've also been watching some does that should go 130lbs field dressed too. There are 3 hanging out together & they are HUGE.

The longer this season goes the more I think I might end up with a deer like this one.

Looks like this Buck has a pretty good rack.

He does look a little "light" tho.

:laf: :laf:  Then I guess I better not tell of the 2 nice does, 2 smaller deer, & the fat little button buck that I gave a pass to this AM Jerry.   :laf: :laf:

I won't be bacl out til Saturday AM now & then I MIGHT be  thinking "freezer"!!  :laf:  Or I might just wait til the 19-20th to lay one out. Especially if the scouting shows those couple big boys are still around.  :eyebrow:

Either way Jerry I'm rooting for ya!! Keep at it!!  :yoyo: :yoyo:
