I made this one for Christmas by request........I do not know what the wood is as it came from a mixed bag at wood craft.
The copper band was easy but the tapered hole for the toneboard and me without a reamer was a pain....but it turned out.

Comments welcome.....

I like it even if you don't have a blue towel.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Never saw one before so it looks good to me.  What are them two units it's resting on .  What is it to sound like . Thanks
I say what I think not think what I say.

Those two units are Acorns from Texas.....I am going to make an acorn call from them when they are dry enough.

The call makes the sounds of a cow Elk  it can also make some cool cat like sounds and used as a predator call.

Nice call Al. It could be Tiger Maple.  :laf: :laf:

Jerry put a tutorial on fixing the tapering dilemma you faced. Check out the tutorials on THO's website. He modifies his tapered crow reeds with the Latta Method I believe it's called.  :yoyo:

Al,

If you have an old "spade" bit laying around.  File the sides to the taper you need, and use it to bore out the seat for the tapered toneboard.   A brand new spade bit is only a few bucks and can be easily modified.

Looks good Al!  :yoyo: Don't ya hate how they do their grab bags? I never know what I got unless it's very obvious or you can smell it, like coco or walnut.
