One of New Yorks Finest

12/31/09 I left the house at 4:45am in the middle of a snow storm to meet up with HaMer in South Canton 2 inches of fresh wet heavy snow on the roads.I was heading to Rochester NY for work and since Glen isn't busy this time of year he went along.
After 1 1/2 hours of top speeds of 30mph I finally get to meet up with Glen,he climbs in the truck and up the road we go.
Daylight arives and the roads clear up and my right foot gets a little heavier,we cross the Pen state line then into NY all is fine when Glen says there is a cop to late 72 mph in a 55 is a NO NO

10 minutes later this fine officer is handing me a piece of paper and explaining to me that this is not a speeding ticket ,but he wrot me up for disobeying a traffic device

then he points to the speed limit sign right in front of me

I thanked him wished him a Happy Ney year and told him to becareful,and proceeded on our way.
After getting home I read this piece of paper I can plead guilty and take care of everything by mail and that is what I am gonna do,but the Judge may still want to see me and there is a good chance I will loose my driver license
I do realize this is my fault but I could put the blame on the copilot
All in all we got home safe and intime for New Years Eve

Don't feel bad Bill. They were giving those out in south Ga.
Thanksgiving weekend--70 in 55 zone. Such is life.

Oh sure...you guys whip right by my place and and try to speed through before I notice. You were 5 minutes from my house when you passed I79. I had one of those tickets (Obedience to Traffic Devices) a few years back 43 in a 25...hey I was on my way to class at the time. You shouldn't lose your license for that. And the best part is when they charge you with that particular violation you don't get any points added to your license. That is their way of cutting you a bit of a break.

Sorry Steve I will remember that next time through and yes I was probably a little heavy on the throttle when we went past you twice and Glen did mention it after we were already through there

When the officer handed me the piece of paper and told me what he wrote me up for I kinda figured he was being a nice feller

Anyone who speeds should be imprisoned forever

. You can see more going slow.

If we are wanting to save fuel all we need to do is put the speed limits for everyone down to 20mph and shoot all the ones who break the law.

I knew it would be a scary proposition at best to be in the same area as Hamer.

When you come to the LBL Glen, we are staying right there at Wranglers when I am there. I don't need a brush with the those Forestry boys, just because you are in our midst.

:roflmao: :roflmao: That patrolman was just beyond toll gate in the median on the other side of an overhead bridge. We were on a grade & setting just high enough that I seen him at the last second. Just as I said there's a PO he disappeared behind the bridge abuttment. Things sure happen fast at 72mph.

So later on the Boss calls. Bill fesses up & gets his ass handed to him for the violation. Boy was Chris unhappy with him!!

He also talked to the guy that owns the truck. Turns out Bill won't be paying the fine after all.

The company is gonna pay it for him!!

Steve-- I told Bill we were right at your doorstep. About that time I felt the throttle bottom out & the smoke rolled outta the stack.

Next thing I know we are being detained.

I have been pondering on the thought of starting a BITE ME Prostaff. Hamer did win the first annual BITE ME Award and he sent me a shirt a few years ago. I was wearing that crazy thing yesterday. I sure do get some looks when I wear it.

How should I set the Prostaff up? Base it on how big a smart alec you are? Maybe how many you get? Then maybe have it where you can issue "Bite me's", but you have to be assigned your own color or something like that. What say ye? Is this viable or just another pipe dream?

I guess I need to start another thread on the subject, sorry about hijacking your thread Bill.

Ya see Jimbo the truck I was driving was FORD LN 9000 not a Dodge so yes I was capeable of doing 72 and then some

And the only reason my head was hanging out the window was Glen ate some kinda bread and butter the day before that didn't agree with him and I can tell you I am sure he didn't eat it,it had to crawl up in him and die
