read about this on another site. thought id see what ya'll thought about it?

real or photoshopped and if you think its real....what d you think of the canned hunts? have you ever went on one and would you pay to hunt one of them or would you rather take a smaller buck by a traditional hunt?

Hurteau: 420-Pound Buck Was Killed On Game Farm

Seen this horse yet? It’s the latest mystery monster making the rounds (or maybe its second or third round) in cyberspace. Depending on which source you reference, the buck pictured was killed in Maine or maybe in Ontario and weighs 400, no 414, no 440 pounds. The resounding question is: “Is this photo for real?” After a little poking around and a couple of dead ends, I wound up on the phone with Shorty Flees of Wisconsin’s Wilderness Whitetails Game Farm and Preserve.

“Yes, it is a legitimate buck. I mean, we are a high-fence operationâ€"I want to be clear about that--but this is a real buck,” said Shorty. “It was taken last September and weighed 420 pounds live-weight--the heaviest deer that’s ever been shot on our place. In fact, your readers can go on our website and watch the video of the hunt.

“Our client hunted this deer for 11 days. We’d had very warm weather and this buck just would leave his bed in a cedar swamp during the day. But it finally cooled off, and the hunter caught the buck making its way from the swamp to a food plot. He was so pumped, he just went nuts. He was kissing the deer.”

Last fall, Wilderness Whitetails clients shot 38 bucks over 200 inches, including one 340-incher. Now, whether or not you call high-fence hunting “hunting” is a separate question, which you’re welcome to address in your comments. (Would you take a free hunt at Wilderness Whitetails?). But the answer to the question so many people seem to be asking is yes, the photo is for real. Check out their promotional video.

Pretty sure it's real. I believe this is where it was killed.

There are some real freaks there ! I believe the article
says you can watch a video on this hunt. I just watched
part of the video that showed some of there breeder bucks.
That one poor deer could hardly walk with his head up.
I think they said it scored like 490 or somethin. Crazy !

Just looking at the pic I would say real and not a photoshop job.

But I would have to agree, the meat from that deer prolly wouldnt taste good at all. The deer looks more fat than meaty. Like they pumped him full of steroids and just let him eat all the high calorie foods he could get.

Canned hunt = not for me. I have done the put and take pheasant hunts but that would be as close to a canned hunt as you could get me to go on.

Al you are right there must be 2 dozen calls in the m antlers.

Side note. I would love to see two deer that size going at it over a doe. Like thunder on the hoof.
Don't bring shame to our sport.

He died for dipshits too.

IF its real it would be defiantly CANNED  :rolleye:
And it would mean nothing at all to me.........

The horns are probably not real good quality for call making ......but I would be willing to try and turn em....

Oh it's definitely, and openly, a high fence hunt, I think they said like a total of 800 acres.
It's in central Wisconsin. It'll cost ya $4,000 for a deer up to 155", it'd cost ya $15,000
for one up to 190" , and goes up from there. They say they shoot, or have shot, 30 plus
deer over 200" in one year, with several over 300".   That just crazy !!

- and those be some expensive calls Al !  :nono:

It's not a big deal but it's most likely "antlers"...

Silencer

wouldnt hunt it even if it was paid for,  canned hunts = bs.  I'd rather shoot a spike horn on my terms in my open country.

Frogman

You can't kill 'em from the recliner!!

I love canned hunts. I like sardines but I always take several cans of vienner sausages for my daughter, and several cans of pop.
