Found a truck on an auction and will probably buy it wink.  Just wondering what you guys think it is worth.

http://www.auctionsales.ca/searchdetail.asp?id=a0000003638~AC~AC~a000000019~~01/01/9000

Go down to the '79 ford truck and take a look.  Appreciate the ideas.

I can intelligently speak Ford all day eyebrownod
The rubber dont look to be in too hot of shape, but I can tell you the truck itself is worth around $500 bucks. Not including any of the equipment.
I have no idea about the price of that stuff let alone installed and functional.

A Straight 6 Ford 300 will outlast anything they put it in. They are one helluva well built motor. I've already seen them outlast the trucks they are in with 0 oil pressure for months.
They are good on a gas, and the Borg Warner T18/19 and NP 435 used in their four speeds combined with the Ford 9 inch and some good rubber, make these things unstoppable in granny low.

These trucks are said to have more low end torque then the power of a Chevorlet 350 coming out of a Dana44 wink

Plus, I used to own one

All together I would spend about $900 on the truck and sprayer
And I am not in the spraying business like you are.I am guessing your gonna spend closer to $1800  for something like that

Since it is an auction, it is hard to say what it will go for.  Depends on how many people show up and if auction "fever" strikes.  The in line six 300 is a heck of a motor.  I had a '81 F150 4x4 300 manual shift and it would pull all day in low lock.

But to answer your question, I would say, assuming it runs, $500 would be about right for it.  Add $ for the equipment if you can use it or sell it.

Since I have a set of michelins just begging for a truck to go on the tires don't bother me none.  The equipment on it is worthless to most people but I can make it work as a fenceline/cutline spraying rig it would pay for itself in 3 hours at $500.  I have 5 trucks[at least] with the 300 in them so parts is an option for this truck.  I thought I'd go to $2,000.

How far away is it?
Meaning can you test the equipment out before hand?

2 hours.
The equipment will be fine.  Anything on a sprayer I can fix.  I'll call the owner soon.

Well hurry up, cause I'm gonna have weeds popping up in my driveway before too long once this snow melts.

Talked to the owner today.  He says the truck runs great and as a plus all the components on the sprayer run as well, but the the sprayer doesn't have floating booms so I'm guessing cheap innocentwhistle

Close Pat.  On a sprayer[I thought Jim knew this when he talked about Tyler Patriots] a floating boom is self leveling so when you tilt the sprayer the lower end doesn't hit the ground[only works to a point].  This old sprayer without any of that is of less interest and so should sell really reasonable.  It would be a great rig for some of the fields I saw in your country cause it's half as wide as my bigger machines.
