The last hog needed killing today, it being close to spring and all.

HaMeR I tried the new scraper but it needs sharpening.  Bob was the photohog.

Man that brings back memories ... of a whole lot of work! That sausage looks great! Matter of fact it's making me hungry now. Thanks for the pictures! :wink:

can anybody here tell me how you sharpen a hog scraper?  :innocentwhistle:

:laf: :laf:  When we were kids we used to help Friends butcher. They would do 3 in one day & that was a lot of work. They didn't have a backhoe to dunk em with either. Just come alongs & a tall tree.  :whew:

Al, I don't know about you but I ain't found a recipe for good moose head soup yet :nofgr:.

John I still have the saw but after Tevis got about done removing the plate from the moose I now need a new blade  :argh:.  Knothead.

I've never done the whole process myself, just raised them, put them down, and hauld em off to a butcher.   One time we loaded one on the back of the truck first then wacked em, he smashed the tailgate and ended up falling off thrashing and bruised up the meat pretty good.  ( hold my beer and watch this type of deal )
Then we learnt and ended up using a machine to let em bleed n load um  :laf:
