Went out Sunday nite with Larry and did a little nite hunting. Had quite a time, and saw eyes at nearly every stand. Several stands they were waiting on us when we got there. Larry nearly lipsqueeked one into range. Called 4 coons and a bobcat into gun range. Had a few stands that they made the circle and got downwind.

This one came from a new farm that we had never hunted. Kind of scraggly/mangy looking - but drug him to the truck for a pic anyhow.

Made a couple of daybreak/daylight calls - 2 stands were bust, and we jumped a pair as we were just getting ready to set up. Get em another day.

And we appreciate that  :yoyo:

Quick questions...the pair you jumped, what type of terrain were they in?...brush, a ditch, tall grass?
And what time of day did this happen?

I wonder how many of us...myself included, are hitting the timer too early and catchin yotes working towards bedding areas.

The daylight pair we jumped were running the backside of a thickly grown up fence line with a large hay field on their side of the fence.  That field was bordered by two sides with timber.  We were trying to set up on the other side of the fence against some round bales.   I was setting up the e-caller and decoy, and heard my partner barking at them.  He said he was just getting ready to sit down and noticed them coming down the other side of the fence, about 30 yards away from him.  Couldn't get them to stop - and even if he could, probably couldn't get a shot thru the thick fence.
