I was out and spent all day Saturday checking spots and doing scouting.  This spot showed the most sign, and is also the place I am having the most set-up problems with.  Sorry this overhead is crappy, I guess they have taken any high resolution of this area yet.  Hopefully you can follow this...

I have a million different things going on here...

Thick Blue lines = Roads, North, east and south are gravel low travel.  The west is highly traveled, asphalt road.
Yellow Lines=Fence Line, The double line on the south end is a extra thick fence line, has a bunch of fallen trees.
Red Area=Heavy marsh/slough, lots of cattails, and "fringe area"
Lavender Areas=Grassy waterways, with some scattered trees
Bright Green Lines=When scouting saturday, these areas where the highest traveled
Pink Lines=Travel lanes I saw last night.
Green Circles= Set ups
Light Blue Circle=Coyote popped his head out last night
Red Squares=Activity points along the road

Like I said spent Saturday running around checking spots.  On Saturday all travel lanes lead to the eastern point on the marsh.  I didnt go into the slough too far, becasue if one was bedded, I didnt want to kick it out.  Everything kind of collected in that point though.

Yesterday afternoon, I decided to do a sunset set up there.  Wind was south with a hint of east.   I parked on the north end of the section.  Actually there is a old country church up there and hid my truck in with their Spruce trees.  This was my big mistake.  I didnt pay attention on Saturday, but the fence going to the south ends and doesnt go all the way to the middle of the section.  So I walked all the way to the northern set up point.   I cant believe that I wouldnt have got busted.  I might as well have came in from the south, but after seeing all the sign in the grass waterway on the SE side on Saturday and yesterday, I didnt want to bust that.

Yesterday walking out I again saw sign in the two northern waterways. when I was walking out.  I DIDNT mill around looking at it.  I could see definite tracks in the snow and which direction they were headed.  It had just finished snowing on Sunday night, so whatever went through moved late Sunday night, or during the day yesterday.

I had one pop his head out of the cover last night after some howling.  It just walked out, sat down, looked right at me, and then got up and turned around.  As it turned I went to raise my gun, and it just walked into the cover.  Never to be seen again...

I need help, I dont know on this property what will get me busted and what wont.  How close should I be or how far should I be back.... This property alot more than others is really making me struggle with setup.

                 Hi Justin,
Your photo is very hard to see , at least on my pc. From your description of the area. You seem to have the travel lanes more or less  located. Having the coyote come to the edge of thicket , in the afternoon , would tell me your close to a bedding area. It can be very difficult to pull them out into open areas. Your problem seems to be , how to set up without getting seen or winded. Avoid at all costs crossing any open fields , or allowing your scent to blow into the thicker areas . Where you think they're bedded. As I said its real hard to read pic. I may be wrong , but I like the area where the penninsula due south of where coyote popped its head out meets the area in red . If Im seeing it correctly , it looks like you can use the fence line, where you were set up, to cross a narrow spot to reach the end of the penninsula. And follow it to the edge of the area the coyote came from. Looks like it would force them to travel the edge of the cover , to reach your set up or expose themselves in the open area. It seems this spot would be good with a northwest or southwest wind , being either would be blowing across the open areas. Set up, so this is the case, as close to where the lavender meets the red area. Accessing the tip of the penninsula, just north of southern set up circle, keeping low and using the tree's , grass ,etc. for cover.  Another spot I see would be just northeast of where the dog came out , cover permitting. If Im seeing correctly there's another little section of cover , about half way across there, is a narrow spot in the cover a good funnel.

                                                               Good-Luck,
