Just got off the phone with Iris in Chesapeake, VA.
She said the reason they are charging me that is because I could not provide a sales receipt or proof of purchase.
She said if I could provide either of those the charges would be dropped.

I said Iris...do your teeth come out?

You can't find someone in town to write out a receipt for the camera? Come on Jim, if you look really hard you can find that receipt.

I guess anyone could write one.
But that's not going to take the place of a cash register receipt. I think they know I didnt buy the camera new at a yard sale.

I did look the purchase up on PayPal since I bought it through my PayPal Mastercard. Found it johnny on the spot. Purchase made at 12:40pm CST for $262.70 on May23rd 2010 at Walmart Super Center. But it doesnt say what was purchased.

I emailed PayPal, to see if they could help, low and behold they actually replied within 15 minutes, first asking for more info, and then again by saying sorry we cant provide or replace a receipt.

I wonder if Wally World could do it, if I provided all the details times and dates?

OMFG! I found It!

I've got a bad habit of saving all the boxes that my expensive toys come in. I've got boxes that my fishing reels come in, boxes from old computer parts, even got the box from my Motorola razor which is two or three years old.
I had to Google images to remember what the PowerShot box looked like. Once I did, I thought, hey I just seen that the other day. Went to the laundry room shelf and there it was.

The girls got to listen to me whine all they way back from Madison tonight so when I walked into the room with the box, I said, "look what I found and what are the odds of the receipt being inside this box". Slim to none I thought as I said it cause I NEVER do that.

Wala! there it was, taped to the inside of the lid.

I do not remember doing that but boy am I glad I did.

MANNNN my day just got a WHOLE lot better.

Thats funny in that I usually always keep the box and always put the receipt in the box to boot.

I think having the box helps if I ever get tired of the new toy and decide to throw it on Epray.

Now that they have the receipt, I got another reply. It must still be under warranty. Which is a good thing.

There was a brand new camera setting between the doors in a FedEx package tonight when I got home.

or....I should say "factory refurbished'.

What I do think is funny, is the fact that they said mine was not a serviceable model, but yet...

they may and DID replace it with a refurbished one. LOL

Anyway...I got what appears to be a brand new camera, and honestly I couldn't be happier.

Got it last night, and since they clearly stated not to send in any accessories, like the lanyard, the SDcard, the battery, etc. I now have two of everything

Two batteries will be the handiest.
