I'm still fumbling my way through this gadget, but so far I'm  pretty impressed. :eyebrownod: I feel like a kid with a new toy.

Wait sec  ...I am a kid with a new toy. :sneer:
It's got a 180 page user guide so I'm thinking it'll take me double that (360 days) to get it all figured out.

This one is my favorite. Tell it I want the Copenhagen can left original. Everything else around black and white.

This is a piece cut out of the earring picture I took tonight, where the penny was used as a size reference. I thought it was cool how you could see the texture on the printer paper, and the dirt on the penny.

Oh and of course A baby pike I caught tonight.

Then I decided to set the camera down in the middle of the lawn and see if it'd focus on the grass right in front of the lens.

Don't ask why on this next one. I dont know why...a kid with a new toy, what can I say?

Ok......I gotta try and read some more.

OK, I give.      What kind of camera is it?

I LIKE that first pic of the cancer can and the desk.   ;yes;

FinsnFur

Barry you'll probably get sick of me taking pics of everything the next few months while I get comfortable with this thing :laf:

Bill, you actually have no idea. :nono:  That 5th pic was taken right from my living room window. The city has sent crews over to cut the lawn since it's got neglected for so long. These guys had to take GPS readings before they entered the property. I havent seen them since they started. Once in a while I hear a guy yelling out there but I can't see through the brush any better then he can :laf:
Seriously, I havent taken the time to open the Deere up yet. She still mows after a battery charge, so it's not a super high priority.

Semp, the camera isnt anything special. It's one of Cannons latest creations.
The Cannon SD1400
14.1 megapixels
It'll do HD video in 720p in up to 30fps
Even has a built-in HDMI digital out port for playing the vids back from the camera to the TV.
Lots of still image features. I'm still making my way through all that.

The most impressive thing to me so far is the ability to zoom into very distant objects and it'll focus itself virtually perfect.
Cost?..Barely over $200 bucks.
I see they are going up now. Tiger Direct jumped $20 bucks on this model.

That's it?
Looks like it'll fit in a shirt pocket.

What do you call a distant object.  I've been wanting to get a camera where I can get a pix at 300yds & make it look like it's 10yds away.

That thing is WAY to big to fit in any shirt pocket.  It is over 1/2 of an inch thick and the weight of almost 5 oz. will throw a back out in a heart beat.  Nice camera Jim.

:whew: Thanks for the warning Jerry.

Silencer

man I like that, cool new toy Jim

HaMeR

OK. The 1st pic is way too cool. What really impresses me the most tho is if you didn't have a tripod the clarity on those closeups are amazing!! There is no blur at all in them. You didn't use a tripod did ya??

Interesting assortment of "necessities" on your desk there, Jim. How often do you use the three "odd" supplies?
sometimes I wonder....is that getting closer..... then it hits me

I had a personal conflict the other day, now I'm not speaking to myself.... I'm getting lonesome

I met the girl of my dreams, I was the man of her dreams too.....she used the term "nightmares" though.

FinsnFur

No I haven't put it on a tripod yet. The one of the penny though, I had the camera setting on the table by itself.
And then with the lens out I just tipped it forward until the lens acted like a kick stand and set the timer. So that why that one came out so clear.

The Mister Twister tail I was leaning forward while on my knees cause the seeds and worm was on the garage floor.
It's got a little hand that shows up on the screen with squiggles on each side of it telling you that your not holding the camera still.

Whats the "odd" supplies? :alscalls:
The duct tape. Thats there because I was bitchin at the kid that it disappeared. So he laid it there knowing I wouldnt miss it.

The sandwhich bag had one magazine of ammunition it in. Rick223's working on my bolt and I was going to run over some ammo so he had some to cycle through it. I took them out one night to use them as a background for your machine gun chrome pics, and then didnt like the pic.

Thats all I see for oddities. :laf:

And the pencil/pen holder?             :rolleye:

Thats not an odditie Al. They are found on many desks throughout North and South America, and many other countries today.
It's a small opened end container to store pens and pencils in while no writing is taking place.
