This'll be an interesting thread :eyebrownod:

I'm trying to figure out how to explain it through a keyboard. It'd be easier to show you.
I taught myself by watching videos, and then driving down the highway and practicing. Kept working till I was able to get the sounds I wanted etc.
Then I'd throw the howler in the seat next to me and pick it up again and see if i could get it in the right position in my mouth to repeat the howl.
That was actually the hardest part, getting the call positioned exactly where I wanted it for a consistent sound every time.

Tappen , I made the howler john sent ya....... that is my tone board and its made from deer antler.
Its been sent from WV to Arizona then to you....... So I worry if something has changed ...... that tone board is very easy to learn if you practice, and I can show ya purdy quick how to use it. But first I would like to hear what kind of problems/sounds you are getting.

If you put your top lip on the widest part of the reed.... start blowing and at the same time drag that top lip back toward you... Stopping at a note that sounds good to you...... that is a start.
If you think something may be wrong I will send you a souloution...... :eyebrow:
If not we will keep working on it till we get it........ Your welcome to call me anytime and I will be glad to help ya.
If you send me your address I will send you an example That will help ya........ but you gotta practice.

Try tilting the howler about 45°, then do what Al suggested.  Sometime all it takes is allittle bit of an angle.

Tappen just stand and watch your KW run down a hill without you in it.  I guaranty you will howl :iroll:.  Practice lad, practice and try what these guys said[with the exception of watching a video :pout:].
