I called Chad "my son" this morning to see if he wanted to go hunting with me. He said yes and we had a great morning. Chad thought we should walk through some short berry briars and bushes and see what we could kick up. So Chad was walking along about 50 feet to my left and a deer jumped up in front of him at about 15 feet. He put one shot in the back of the deers head with his 30-06. Nothing is better than being with your son hunting and watch him make a great shot. Absolutely the best day hunting in a long time. The deer was 1 1/2 years old.

Hunting with your son, watching him drop a buck, I have to agree it is great day.

some of it will be next to the taters tomorrow Glen.  :alscalls:  I don't get alot of chances to hunt with my son so it was really a special day. I have one Doe tag left so we might get to go again before season is over. We still have 6 weeks left.

Great job!  Congrats.   Good shooting too.  Up close in thick brush is pretty tough.    :congrats:

Thanks guys. It's always fun hunting with him. I don't get to do it often enough.  But he did get another one.

I wasn't in on this hunt Bill. You can pick on me. I got thick skin "yup, thick, old and wrinkled". He went to the Southerntier for this hunt and he will be going in Dec. for a white deer hunt in Seneca. I'll post pictures if he gets a white one. . I don't hunt down there. But I really did offer to drag the last one for him.
