I was in bed tonight and my wife came running into the bedroom telling me that someone had just pulled into my yard and stole my truck. She had jumped into the car and followed them till they turned down a dead in road. Then she came back and got me.

The first thing I did was grab my Remington 870 loaded with 4 rounds of 4 buck and away we went. We went down that road and seen them pulled over beside a church. I jumped out and they jumped into their car and my truck. When the car came by me I pumped 4 rounds into the back right tire and rear quarter panel.

It blew my mind that the tire didn't go flat. I know I rocked their world. Needless to say we lost them and while we were talking with the cops, they got a call saying they had a truck on fire. When we got there, it was my truck. They pecker heads took a curve to fast and hit a tree, then set it on fire before they left.

When we found the truck they were loading a 4 wheeler into the back of it. So some poor so is out a 4 wheeler tonight and I am out a truck. The bad thing is I had left the keys in the truck so I don't know what the insurance company will do. Say a prayer for me.   :madd:

Have had that happen toooo many times coyote hunting that's why I use #1 buck..  :eyebrow:

Ronnie I hate to hear about the truck and someones 4 wheeler. I hope they catch the Bastids. Usually the stuff I leave in my Jeep is worth more than the Jeep. I was bad about leaving my truck with the keys in it along with guns, tools electronics and the like but lately I been taking most of it out and bringing the keys in.

Keep us updated on the scumbags and some pics of the old and new truck..

BTW I bet it was hard to aim at the back tire when you really wanted to aim at the driver compartment. These guys may not even realize how lucky they are to be alive because we know how deadly you can be with a shotgun on living breathing targets..

Man that sucks real bad. I can't believe your wife took off after them, that could got ugly in a big hurry.

I've been sayin it for a while, knowing that you and SCcoyotehunter are in the middle of it, but South Carolina is literally being over run with gangs and drug cartel. Most of it's coming out of Columbia, SC.
But with the Bloods and the Crips running as strong as they are in that state, they run it, and everyone else out.
It's all over the news up here. You better get Carla some iron to pack with her.

I just seen a couple weeks ago where the State of South Carolina is getting federal grants to help fund their fight against the growing gang population.
This stuff happens almost everywhere, but South Carolina is a really bad place to be the last couple years, and it's getting worse.

I hope like heck they catch these guys and burn em to the ground Ronnie. And I'm glad you and the family didnt get hurt in the main time.

What a night!    In hindsight, you shoulda pumped 4 rounds in to the drivers seat when they tried to run you down with that car.  Glad you and the wife aren't hurt.   :shock2:

The insurance has to pay off with or without the keys in the truck.

msmith

It's good that you and your wife are safe. Sorry about your truck and like Semp said, the insurance should pay either way. Good luck man, I would be miffed too.

Sorry to hear it Ronnie. Don't worry about losing the truck, they will pay for it. Though your insurance cost's may go up. Burning is hte norm when they are done with a vehicle. It destroys finger prints and other evidence they may leave behind. You would not have gotten your truck back anyway.

Your part of the country is not alone in this. Just some keep it quieter than others.I got crips , bloods, somali cartel, and Mexican mafia all running lose around me. Thank god we aint' civilized totally around here.  Shooting at thieves is still one of those gray areas, Cops kind of like it when we mark a car for 'em . Nothing makes it easier to find a suspect than fresh shot patterns in hte paint when htey go to the local department store .

They busted a big meth lab last week. He missed his meeting with his parole officer  :rolleye:

Mexican driving a big four wheel drive chevy, new. Always has a roll of cash on him that would choke an elephant. Wonder what he is into  :innocentwhistl:

We need laws that say we can shoot a tresspasser on sight . Jimmie

Sure am glad you and your wife didn't get hurt. She is one brave woman ! Something has got to be done about all these gangs and illegal aliens.  :argh: :argh: :argh:

Whew what a day yesterday was!!!! Phone call after phone call. This is one stressful mess!!!

I have got the best wife, she is a better detective than the cops are. I had to go into work yesterday morning and left her one task; to pick up the police and fire report at the stations. But that wasn't enough for her, she went down the road where they torched the truck and found where they unloaded the 4 wheeler. Found a lady that was sitting on her front porch smoking when my truck went by with the 4 wheeler in the back and then again a few minutes later with it gone.

Later in the day she went back by there and they were and 4 kids were loading up a 4 wheeler on a trailer. Needless to say the law didn't make it in time. They found my bible which has a hard glossy cover on it, good for finger printing, its at the law enforcement center. She found that set of keys I thought I had lost, well I guess I did loose them just not in the pasture.

The thieves took the time to clean out everything that was in my truck. Man I wish they would have thrown out my shooting sticks. May have needed that to start the fire. I think with Detective Cannon on the job they will be caught.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers that were sent our way. She took some pictures of the truck but I don't have time to post them right now, I am going hunting. Time to stress relive on some coyotes!!!!!!!!   :argh:

So you left your keys in your truck. Does that set of keys also have keys to the house, or do you leave them in the door knobs?   :iroll:
You may want to change the locks on the doors of the house or any padlocks on out-buildings that you don't want thieves in.  :nofgr:
When I worked at Lowe's, many moons ago, we would key locks alike. In other words have one key work all the door locks. If you don't want to buy all new door handles you can go there & get a set of keys left over from another job they did & have your locks fitted to it. That way there's two keys you don't have to have made.  :eyebrow:

Have you reloaded the shotgun yet?
