Hiring process

Once again I am applying for jobs in the Forest Service back in Montana, I had a phone interview yesterday and one last week. Yesterday they called and checked my references and then called me back and asked to talk to someone that worked under my supervision, I handed the phone to one of my employees and left the room, while he talked to them. They called back in the afternoon, and said that my application is one of the best that they have ever seen, ( I paid to have it done professionally ) and they told me that my references all were great, and that I should hear from today. Its 6:35pm we close at 5:00pm and my phone has not rang all day.

I dont understand. Do they treat you guys like freelancers and then can you when the fires are out and force you to look for jobs?

I thought you traveled all over doing this sort of work.

Throwing someone to the curb in that line of business, you'd think would only fuel these fires LITERALLY!

Thanks for the good luck wishes, the phone still has not rang today.

Jim i work year round, the summer months we fight fire, and do project work for our forest (Mendocino National Forest) during the off season we respond to all risk situations (hurricane Katrina, fires in other countries, we picked up pieces of the shuttle in Texas when it crashed) we do a lot of marijuana garden clean up, and prescribe burning.
