i wanted tolet you guys know that Alexys is in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. since feb 12th i had her to the docs 5 times and she contiunued to get worse.

thursday when she came home from school after being out 7 days she was leterally sdeathly ill. i took her to the Er and they transferred her to this hospital to the ICU unit of pediatrics.

her white blood count was 48,000...astronomically high.

when they transferred her up here..the papers said that death was the prognosis for her if she wasnt admitted into an icu. i was acared to death but thanks be to God she seems to have came out of the woods. she is now out of icu.

they did various xrays and a cat scan and found that the pneumonia she had been under docs care for hadnt responded to the antibiotics and that her lungs were full of infection.

theyve had her on intravaneoau Rocephin(which they use to treat menangitis) for the last 3 days and she has one more dose tonight.

the doctor has sa8id that if she continues to improve she will go home tomorrow.
i just wanted to let ya'll know what was going on and ask you for a prayer for her.
thank you to everyone that said a prayer for her..i truly appreciate it.

I'm certainly glad Alexys is doing better, she has gone through a lot in the past year or so.

Hey, Cathryn, praying for Alexys and for you.  There is nothing scarier for a parent than deathly danger for a child.  Thanks for letting us know.  Sure glad to hear that she is improving.  Let us know when you have time, but we will be praying either way and understand if you get too wrapped up in caring for her to post for awhile.

thank you, everyone, i appreciate ypur prayers for her..it means alot to me.

the Doc just came in and they are releasing her this afternoon.

she'll be on 21 days of an antibiotic and will be seeing a couple specialists up here in Morgantown but shes well enough to go home, they say.

i guarantee you i will be watching her like a hawk for ANY sign of trouble. im still worried about her... you dont come that close to losing a child and not have it profoundly affect yopu.

again, thanks guys.

Cathryn,

I am really sorry to read this about Alexys.  She sure has been fighting her battles with sickness and I am sure that there is no one more ready for her to be done with all of it than you.  Mom's worry when there isn't any need at all and when there is they put on a good face and are all messed up inside - or at least all the ones I know do.  So my prayer will be that Alexys will get back to normal real soon so that you too can return to normal.
