I'm glad you are alright .  Them things can do a lot more damage than that to a vehicle and occupants :puke:.  Which way was it going to get itself dead from that dent .
I say what I think not think what I say.

That's a real bummer but I'm certainly glad to hear that you're Ok. :highclap:

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Lets just say it could have been much, much worse.  He was quartering away, crossing from my right to my left. I tried to angle him for several reason, to minimize the impact and damage to the truck, and to avoid his 1200 lb mother stepping out behind him. (he was the lesser of the evils.)  :innocentwhistle: What took seconds to happend seemed like minutes, as it was like I had all the time in the world to figure out what I wanted to do.  :wo: He was about a foot above my hood height with all fours in the air for a brief second, and my truck after hitting the berm, was up on the two right tires just a hair from rolling over.  :shock2: I looked down and saw the road in my passanger window, then the truck fell back to all fours. You can see all his fur up in front of my tuck, and the truck went into the berm just right behind it. THATS where he landed.

I'm just glad the air bag didn't go off!!!!!!!!!  If I'm luck and I might just be, it'll be a fender, hood grill and right head light.  :readthis:

So it is a waste then  :rolleye:

Not really :nono:.  Todd was just helping the economy and other scavenger type wild life :eyebrownod:.

No Bill its not a waste. The Alaska State Troopers maintain a list of nonprofit organizations (Mostly church groups I think) that are on a call list, and when they get called for a road killed moose they just go do their thing, and then give it to needy families.

Glad you weren't hurt, Todd.   I hear people put moose lights on their vehicles in Alaska.  Do those work?

Moose lights up here are just after market flood lights, like the Light Force. It just allows you to really light up the roads a head of ya at night. I would say the folks up here have them on anymore so then the lower 48 states.

The one big difference is most truckers run all those moose lights.

How ironic. I was just watching a deal on TV where they were telling all these Alaskan Moose/ vs car stories. They even told us about feeding the communities with them things.

I'm glad you got out of this with as little as you did. SUV's like yours are all to famous for endowing because of the motor weight vs the light body weight.

Todd,

Glad that you weren't hurt.  The truck can be fixed, but I don't think you would have been as easy a fix if the moose came through the windshield and landed on you.

Thanks fellas, I don't think I was really in any danger. Maybe worse case for me would have been face rash from the airbag.
