The button on the top of my old ball cap hurt my head the last two times I've worn it hunting.  I'm guessing that I bumped it or something and made a sore or sensitive spot on top of my head, but anyway it hurt.  Not bad but I don't like pain of any kind, even low grade.  Putting up my parka hood in rain or pulling a fleece cap over top for warmth pressed the button down and made the pain worse.  I had a pair of side cutters in my tool box, so way out on a logging road last weekend I cut the button off.   Way better!

Some pilots don't like caps with the button on top because head phones press on the button.  Some bush pilots wear  caps with a baseball pattern of sewing, and no button.  Those seem hard to find, more expensive, and are often women's styles.

I know, if this is the biggest problem I have life is pretty good! :alscalls:

:alscalls: I've been there and I cant remember what brought it on. I mean yeah the button  :doh2: but something besides that like a hood on top of the cap or something. :laf:

It probably would be a good idea to take the cap off when you're rubbing belt buckles with your lady and banging your head on the headboard then.    :innocentwhistle:

THO Game Calls

If you have an Eastern Mountain Sports around you, or ems.com

They make a very nice nylon breathable hat without the button on top.   They are washable, and do not shrink like cloth hats will, and they wear like iron.  I've been wearing them for years.

This time of year, you can usually find them at EMS stores for 10 bucks on sale or clearance.

I've had the same problem with the button top hats, hate them, and these have fixed the problem.

THO, thank you for the link!  I am delayed at SeaTac right now waiting for a flight to Philadelphia, so will see if I can find an Eastern Mt. Sport place this coming week in PA.  If not, will order one or two from your link.

We are pioneers in a fashion fad --someday the TV hunters will discover caps without a button on top -- or a no-button cap maker will pay them to solemnly tell us about the revolutionary comfort idea of wearing a cap without a button on top!

Have a great Thanksgiving.
