Reading through the Wisconsin Outdoor Report this morning, and found this.

Sauk County â€" A buck still in velvet antlers was registered on Saturday at Wilderness in Sauk City. The hunter said that the buck didn't have testicles.

Seems I remember reading in the paper something like that happening around here once.

George is right that would make for a heck of a trophy. Make for a gay looking pic if the doe would still breed.

There are a few antlered does taken each year and I have heard that they lose their velvet, but much later than the bucks.
