Ask Value??

You guys most likely seen  TV shows like Hardcore Pawn, Storage Wars, Storage Hunters, etc.
These guys buy things from individuals, or from abandoned and auctioned off storage units.
Quite often you see them looking up the value of an item on the internet or their phones.

Where in the heck are they doing this? Just out of curiosity I tried looking it up once. I thought that might be handy to know.
Never found a thing even close to giving out that type of information.
And if they are just going to Ebay which I doubt....they are seeing asking prices, not selling prices.

I know alotta the pawn shops use ebay for price references,
you can pull up closed auctions, and that'll show what the stuff
actually went for too.
