Deer decoy?

Has anyone here ever used a deer decoy? If so, how effective was it?

We use to have a 3d deer archery target that sat out in the front lawn and deer always came out of the pines beside it. Now the target is long gone and deer never come out. Never used one hunting but it definitely drew them out of their safe haven in the pine thicket next door when that target was there.

How effective??
Well that depends on what your looking to lure in. Our DNR uses them to lure hunters and not deer and they work wonderfully.

 I've a couple buddies who swear by them. Neighbor shot a 9-point just to stop it from mounting his decoy a couple weeks back.

I've never used one but I've heard plenty of stories.
