CUTIEPIE!! Disney eyes!! That is a look into the hollow soul of a reproducing killing machine. While they deserve the utmost respect for many reasons they are far from cute or Disney-esque. I do hope the coyote was released back into the wild & not put down. For many obvious reasons.

They had film of Mr. Coyote being taken from the store on the news in Seattle.  It was interesting as the station told that they were surprised that a wild coyote would ever enter a city and that they certainly hoped that it could be released "into the wild" where it would not be bothered by humans.  I bet this is the same one that went to visit in New York.

Just shows how people are so wrapped up in their little lives that they have no idea what actually shares the cities with them.   Not so around here... everyone is very aware of our cities predator populations.   Can't count how many times I have been called to do predator species ADC well within city limits, even downtown a few times when casino owners/managers I know called me in.

In Sin City all of the golf courses and desert scape's are magnets for predators and their prey species.   Around certain GC's here the predator populations nearly out number the people living along all the fairways, and its very common to see them on city streets traveling from one GC/DS to another.    They've even been spotted on The Strip, with its 38 million visitors a year.   Hardly a week goes by that someone isn't complaining to the paper about loosing an expensive pet they let run free to predators, and I'm sure very few of them even get reported.   Cat and pooch ala cart is definitely on their menu here, especially during the winter months when pickings are slim out on the desert.

On the dark side, local enforcement policy dictates that once they come into the city they have to be destroyed and can't be returned to the surrounding desert because of the risk of spreading pet diseases to wild populations.   So poodle soup comes at a high price for them at the GC associations I have spoke at and was not able to get to adopt my "live in harmony with" policy.

One more tidbit you might enjoy...   You should have seen the heat I stirred when speaking at a meeting while representing "THE" premier association of the rich and famous in LV a few years ago and found out our local government ADC gent (who was not certified for dart guns) had shown up on their property with a silenced Ruger 10/22 for control.   I prevented him from using it then and there, and with a range seesion right after the meeting proved to all concerned the very real danger of that choice around homes.   Then showed them how my baby 17's are about as close to safe as you can get for that use.   In the end I got that association to learn to live with their predators, and the last I heard the government boys were going to budget for a 17.

AZ is the same way. We shot film in a sports shop parking lot in down town of us playing with and calling to three coyotes. We also filmed 13 coyotes in a subdivision area. The payed us no mind at all as we walked in and set up to call. And they didn't have a problem comming to distress calls either. It was fun!

I know they are a common site in housing developments there, city streets, parking lots, right down in town. Allot of pets are lost to predators. Joggers that run with there dogs say they just snatch them right off the leash! As Uncle Jays says      " Dog on a rope"!!!!!!!

With all the "free" meals in town I am guessing that there will be a straight line between the release site and town.     Now all we need is the release site.

That coyote probably saw the footage about all the rats and mice in the fast food joints in New York and just came in to offer its services! :laf:
