Interesting tidbit on animal birth control

I was listening to outdoor radio this morning, which is Field and Stream radio on 104.5 on Saturday morning from 6am-7am and they shared a scientific study about the effects of birth control on wildlife.
   Well, from the study that was done, we are in good shape. Turns out that alot of wildlife is completely immune to birth control. The exact numbers were not eye popping but there is a kicker. See, 10% of animals will be immune to birth control, but when they reproduce, they will pass the same immunity to their off spring, eventually creating an entire population that is immune. Also, the animals who do take to it, will take on to many side effects from continuous injections.

Yes, that's quite interesting! 

Along those same lines, there's a short article in Outdoor Life (online) about the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) researching coyote birth control.  If they ever come up with a drug that works, they need a delivery system, certain scents could be useful.

The whole birth control for wildlife idea bothers me.  We are invading their territory, they are not invading ours..

As soon as they develop one for any animal that works, then we will lose our strangle hold of our hunting heritage.
