Lets hear the best/ longest/ hardest shot on an animal. Coyote, deer, pd, goat, bird, ect.
I think is the only board I've been to that the members didn't tell lies
I'll start if off. This last fall I killed not one but two crows with one shot a 345 yards. Pure luck but it happened

Now remember only true stories

Me and my son and a couple of friends were in the shabin (thats a crappy cabin for you yanks  ) We had a huge group of crows land in the field. I pulled the .243 out and waited for two to line up and squeezed it off. One bird never moved and the other was thashing around. All four of us got on the atv's and went out into the field. Sure enough two birds one bullet. I had no idea what the range was untill my friend pulled out the range finder and ranged the cabin. Now my son thinks I can hit anything, he don't know about all of my misses I try to keep them on the down low.

I shot 3 pigeons with my 204 from about 70yds one day. But I think the 3rd one actually died as a result of shrapnel. It was able to hop a few feet away then just fell over.

420 yard standing coyote with the Swift a few years ago.

So many doubles and triples on prairie dogs at so many distances there isn't one particular that stands out. There's no way to explaing how fun they are.

I made a 80 yd shot on a crossing pheasant one day.  only hit him with one pellet and caught him right in the eye.  and I got witnesses  :readthis:

I once shot the head off of a Star Wars action figure at 20 feet with my Crossman pellet gun back in about 1980.   I tried to make it sporting and get him to move but to no avail he wouldn't budge.  :noway: (Now its probably a collectors item worth a pile of duckies)  :rolleye:

500'ish yards standing coyote, drew blood, did not find it.  .243

It was a windy snowy day.  We called in one from down wind and after three of us unloaded our guns on this thing from 40 yards away and never hitting it, I seen this spec standing down the fence row.  It was a heavy cross wind with lots of blowing snow.  I figured what the heck and gave it a go.  First shot landed well short seen by a puff of snow.  The coyote stayed standing there so I gave it another go.  By now, the coyote is pretty much in the bottom of my scope.  My second shot seemed to be the right elevation but landed down wind.  Still for some reason the coyote didn't run away.  It moved a little after that last shot.  The third shot got that thing doing the spin they tend to do so much.  I really couldn't see it that well and didn't think I hit it so we left.  Later on that day I got to thinking about that thing spinning and realized that I must have hit it.  So we drove back out there and found a few patches of snow covered blood.  We searched all over this ditch where it went into and never found it.

Oh ya, one time I shot a can with a 22 cartridge after shooting it with a bb gun.  Stuck a 22 in a hole in a piece of plywood, aimed it at a can about 5 yards away.  Stood back at an angle and shot the 22 with a bb gun which shot off the 22 and hitting the can.

Carolina Coyote

I killed a sitting coyote 2 years ago at 300 yards with a 25-06 . Ashamed to tell of the close shots I have missed.cc

Hawks Feather

Double on groundhogs at 187 yards.  There were four weaned pups out playing and eating and I kept watching them waiting for their mother to come out and eat.  As I watched, two of them were going back and forth and it looked like they lined up several times.  I had the 6 BR on the bi-pod and kept following the closer pup.  Finally they were walking toward each other again and when it looked like nose hit hose, I fired.  They both just dropped.  When I got up to them they were about 10 feet apart, just looked much closer in the scope.  But it was my first, and only, double on hogs.
