Umbrella rigs?

Have any of you fellows ever use the umbrella or Alabama rigs for fishing? I thought they were illegal to use in New Hampshire but I just discovered you can use them only with one hook. I thought they might be interesting to try it out.

Dont do it.
I followed all the hype a while back when they made it seem like they were just invented. It was the best thing since sliced bread. They were making it illegal in all the tournaments because they caught so many fish.

Its pretty much piece of shit being marketed with explosive hype to trigger you to think you need one. They should have this on the "buy now and we'll throw in 10 free umbrella rigs" commercials but you have to act NOW!

It dont hold its shape worth a shit if there is any current what so ever. If it's not rigged exactly perfect the whole rig will roll sideways. AND the best part about the whole thing...this just cracks me up. You better have tree trunk for a pole and a Werner winch for a reel, because you wont crank this baby too many times...its is like cranking a Buick through the water. Tighten your drag up and get behind a tree.
Casting? You arent going to cast this much further then 8 feet and thats if the wind is helping you. If you have any flex in the tip of your pole, you might get 4 feet.

You can however remove some of the baitfish rigs so your not using all 5, to make it a little easier...but my opinion...the whole thing is a joke.

Ahhhhhhh! Ok...that makes sense. Thats a whole new deal. Those are serious mini versions. Probably made for sunfish or ice fishing. 
Boy those must have been a real smash hit in the industry too if they are blowing em out for under a buck
The Booyah one you linked to looks like it has 1/16 oz jig heads with 1/2 inch twister tails on it. Definitely NOT the bass rig they claim is being outlawed by B.A.S.S

You would be able to cast that little pup for sure. I thought we were talking about the original bass umbrella rigs.

 Umbrella rigs have been successfully used in the salt water for years and years and years. They just transitioned over to freshwater now.  I am going to experiment with it and mess around with it that's part of the fun of fishing. I would be more inclined to use the Willow blades rather than those rubber fish.

Yah when I used mine I swapped two of the fish for willow blades. We're only allowed three hooks here.
Still wayyyyyyyy to much hardware and weight for the waters I fish.
