Get yourself a good therapist. I think Bopeye might be a perfect candidate. After all, he is very sensitive.  :eyebrow:

awh

Now a man could take that two ways....1) It could be a turkey call.....or 2) something to put Stu in when Cam applys himself to this fishing thing.... :laugh2:

Just kidding Stu. Make sure you post a pic when it arrives. You'll need to practice every day on the call till the end of June.... :innocentwhistle:

You might be on to something there Danny  :wo: Probably need to set up in a lawn chair at a hole down by the river, fish for carp and cats, pop a cold one, and practice. Heck, maybe I'll even get one of them sun umbrellas

:doh2:...backfired again....I was hoping you would stay at home and practice...... :roflmao:

We had planned on going to Rogersville Saturday morning to try the cats there. But dear ol brother needs me to help him move some tools to the shop. So this weekend I think Cam and I will wade the river Saturday morning in chase of a few small mouth and redeyes. The smallies are a bit shorter than what we have been catching, but the numbers of fish should be better. And we can check to see if the carp have made it up to some of our spots yet.

Good luck to you and your dad on the stripers. Hope you get into them good.  :yoyo: :highclap:

I'm sure glad you received them okay...I'm even happier that they are to your liking. Here is another pic of the longbox I took before I sent it... (I have to work on that depth of field) So when are we going turkey hunting? I'll have to come down and show you how to use them

Is that a Carolina beaver you have 'em setting on? I like it!! :yoyo: Wait til you see the Birdseye and walnut shortbox I am finishing up tomorrow

studabaka

Your right.... I will need lessons. No open season on them here till next spring, but your welcome any time..... and yup, that is a carolina beaver they're setting on.

Now there is some real quality woodwork. ;yes;  Steve, ya did a fine job on 'em.

Stu: the way you're going after these turkeys you'll be over on their sites talking abiut this turkey locator site you used to go to. :roflmao:

:yahoo: I just hit 500 posts w/ thisen. :yahoo:  Did it while doing what I like doing, praising & picking.

studabaka

I feel honored to be a part of your 500.....

:wo: Seems to me you recently picked up a fine piece of turkey equipment...... So maybe I'll see ya there...... NOT.

Can't imagine having to go elsewhere for great instruction and tools for turkey..... and the proof is in my freezer

Ed....the big difference is not only the length, but the tonal qualities that each one produces. The short box tends to be a higher pitch than the longbox, where the longbox produces more of a raspy old hen sound. The short box may be tuned to be a bit on the raspy side, but it will still have a higher pitch to it. They both sound good, it really depends on what the turkeys are used to hearing when you're hunting. The tendency around here is to try and emulate the sounds of a boss hen. This is fine, but after the boss tom hears the same type of calling all season it may be a good idea to change up to the sounds of a younger bird as the season progresses. The turkey I shot this year was taken with one of my shortboxes on the second to last weekend in our season.

By the way...I never got a chance to hit the post office today, but your call is finished and sitting on my desk. Would you like a pic posted or would you rather wait for a surprise? It will be in the mail Monday for sure.

Thank you for the kind words also vvarmitr
