Well the tooth doc just dropped a bomb on me today, and told me both kids need braces.   :sad3:  One will have to be knocked out and have two teeth extracted to boot. With out the knock out included, he says I'm looking at a grand total of $12,000 to $20,000.  :sick2: Got the mother-n- laws mouth obviously.  :confused: Would like to knock her out and extract some teeth I tell ya.  :roflmao:

First thing I told the wife............."Ya know what kinda predator call collection I can buy with twenty grand?"  :innocentwhistle:   Who needs teeth right?  :wo:

Well looks like the OT wont stop for another year.   :mad3:  and being the loving father I am I'll sacrafice for the two little ones, and they can at least have braces on the uppers.  :biggrin:

Todd,

Sorry about the dentist news.  (By the way, I hate dentists - or at least the ones that work on my teeth.)  But on the bright side, I think I just heard that there were going to be LOTS of calls available soon.   :innocentwhistle:

Yipper, I had an insurance option but didn't opt for it and this is why.

It is an 18 month plan that I would put a grand total of $2600 in over the 18 month time period, but the kicker is, its only good to cover $2000 for life.  :confused:  Both kids will be about 8 months apart on getting them which would mean I have to pay $5200 for $4000 worth of coverage.  :doh2:

Seemed to be a "no brainer" not to opt for that plan.  :wink:

No biggy, I'll just have to resort to the cream of the crop calls, or save money and go back to buying the older ones.  :roflmao:

I know about the Brace's Scam,,My Step Son was told he needed Braces,,his friggin Teeth were PERFECT !!! well the Whiney Spoiled Brat screamed and whined,,he has a damn Snow Globe Collection,,and he is 20 Now,,and STILL whines like a Girl,,anyway he gets the Braces,,and they did NOTHING to his teeth,,even the Snow Globe collector said they did NOTHING for his teeth,,I think these Dentist's Play on the "Vanity" of Teenagers so the God damn Dentist's can buy a third Home in Hawaii ( Like My Surgeon) I think they know that when a teenager hears " they will have an ugly smile" from the Dentist they put pressure on the Parents,,OF COURSE if you are a Pittsburgh Steeler Fan you ONLY HAVE 1 or 2 teeth anyhow  :laf:
Good Luck with the Braces Todd

  I'd get a different dentist.  When I was young the dentist said we needed braces, my sister got them and I said no way.  I never had another dentist say I needed them and my teeth are just as straight as sisters.

As much as I would like to believe the dentist is wrong, this is the third opinion.  :wink:

My kids are blessed with their grandmothers mouth, and her mouth was to small for all her teeth. I know a mother-n-law with a small mouth is an oddity, but she makes up for it in other ways.  :shck: But the boys teeth, look like what ya get when ya hire a blind handy man to put in a picket fence.  :doh2: They are having to take two baby teeth out, just to get one adult tooth in.  :innocentwhistle:

Nope no way around it, and for you folks that don't know me...................they'll get the braces all around, not just the uppers.  :wink: I'll just sell their bicycles and dip into collage funds for calls.  :laugh2:

My teeth are all straight & pretty & I didn't have to spent that much ............ I got dentures! One of the best things I ever did for myself! ;yes;

My Ex' had the same type of mouth. Her teeth would shift on her.  OUCH! We were riding down the road one day & I heard a snap & she started screaming. One tooth shifted past another. :shck:

BTW Did you tell the kids NO more pop, cake, icecream, chewing gum, etc, etc.  Also if they don't wear out a toothbrush a month they get their butts kicked up around their shoulders. :mad2:

awh

I know how ya feel. Tori gets her's off this week and Cam has an appointment to get his on. Every time I get a little hunting money saved up it goes to a damn doctor or lawyer. I told Cam he better end up with beautiful teeth that land him a beautiful wife w/ a beautiful mother. Or Older sister. Or aunt......He just looks at me like I'm crazy. :doh2:
