We refer to ice as "natural pruning".  Looks like there is lots of pruning going on.  The main thing is that you are safe.

We had the big ice storm in 1998.  Almost 10 years later, there are still places up in the mountains that are covered with trees broken off 10 to 20 feet off the ground.  You walk into them and it is errie.  It sure did help the habbitat though.  Hope you fare better than we did.  It was weeks before some folks got power back.

Good luck

As nasty as that had to have been for you, or still is for that matter, sitting out here in California, where we are having a bit of a cold snap, getting down into the 40's, those pictrues are sure beautiful. I would not want to be there when it was happening, but I sure think the landscape is beautiul looking.

alpenliter-- It's even more beautiful on a hillside in the early AM sun.

Inhabited areas certainly takes the shine off of it when power outages & winter time roof repairs are the end result tho. I hope the whole area thaws out steadily with only minor damages.

That is like the storm we just had right after you did. I live in soulthern Iowa where we have had several weekends of bad weather. We had an Ice storm, not quite as nasty as what you had, but nasty none the less. We lost power for about 12 hrs. There are still people here that don't have any. I have some friends in Wellston OK and they just got their power back on last friday.
The deer harvest here in Iowa has been so low because of the bad weather that they opened an extra doe only season if you did not fill your tag you can go hunt.

One stepdaughter lives in Tulsa. Lucky for & her roomies is their apartment had a fireplace. :whew:

I guess the survivalists were all snug in their homes, but were a little dismayed when no looters showed up.
