Went 'coon calling today w/ HaMeR's FoxPro. Wonder how long it'll be before he misses it. :innocentwhistle:  That'll teach him to leave it so close to the back door.  :eyebrownod:
At 1:20pm as I was going to make a stand & I spot a 'coon feeding on something. He spots me & turns to get in the tall grass & I nail him w/ the 218 Bee. It was a small 'coon & what it had been feeding on was another 'coon. :puke:  In fact there was another 'coon laying dead there too.  :puke:  :puke:  Yes I brought the camera, but what I seen turns my stomach, still does.  :puke: Well, there're 3 'coon laying there now. :iroll:
Pretty wierd huh?

Made a couple more stands & on one had a 'coon come out, look, & go right back in.  I guess I need to find someone w/ an action decoy to snag to go w/ HaMeR's FP. :wo:  :laf:

What kind of sounds are you using, VV? Of all the stands I have made in my days, I have never called up a coon that I know of. But then again I am not looking up in the trees when I call. Fill me in on some details of coon calling please sir.

They come waddling in just like anything else Ronnie. And even with regular distress sounds.

VV, your cracking me up.

HaMeR: I figured why change success. So I did like we did when you got yours.

Ronnie: We do a couple Twittering Coon, then go to "Coon kit in distress, then after a minute or so switch to Fighting 'coon or Aggressive 'coon. These are all Fox Pro sounds.  Now Minaska Outdoors has a DVD out called Crumblin' 'coon.  :thumb2:
What HaMeR & I picked up from the DVD is ... set your caller about 10yds back from a den tree on the unholy( :innocentwhistle:) side that way they have to come out & around to see whats going on. I believe a motion decoy would be of great help.  The one that came out yesterday would have given me more time iffen I had had something for him to try & figure out. He came out, peeked around the corner, & went right back in. I maybe could have shot it if I hadn't been fussing w/ the remote. :madd:

Yeah Jimbo I left him lay! Sorry I even picked it up in the first place. :puke:

HaMeR

VV-- I've been thinking about taking the bumpers off the sounds up/down/send/volume up buttons & leave them on the volume down/mute buttons. In your vast FX3 remote experience :laugh2: what is your opinion on this?? :wo:

We'll have to put 2 rifles on that tree soon. That coon ainta makin no fool outta my huntin buddy!! :pout:

I think the third rifle, and possibly a fourth, is a good idea.  For safety, just put all of the shooters with their back up against the den (holy) tree and have them point their rifles up toward the tree top.  When the coon comes out, or if it comes out quickly and starts around the tree, there will be a shooter ready.  This works best with straight (holy) trees with no limbs growing out to block the view.    :innocentwhistle:   Another thing that will usually get the coon out of a tree is a chain saw.

I read it, and you can hide in the truck.  I guess if you are close enough you can still push the remote.  And I still like my four man tree idea.     :iroll:

Jim,
Are you saying that Glen is right there with you?
