Pretty much since I was able to walk I have been going to the "races" first it started out at a local track where my father helped out a driver with welding and such.  after a while that kinda stopped and I really did not go that often till I could drive myself back and forth to the track after 11 pm.  so for the last 4 years pretty much every friday night and sometimes saturday nights you will find me here.

Pretty cool....you watchin, or racin?

bigben

watchin.  I race RC cars but I aint crazy enough to climb in one of those thangs.  at the end of the stretchs they are going atleast 100 mph.  port a lil more williams grove it all depends on which corner you are in.  the shots of em comin straight at me is the fastest part of williams grove.  they were clocked a year or so ago entering that turn doing 130.  that night they were only a few tenths of the record.

That brings back LOTS of memories.  I used to go to Findlay raceway and shoot 35 mm film for some friends when midgets ran.  Great times, but I never had a desire to get behind the wheel - I watched too many flip and fly.

Thanks for the post.

if you were talkin bout the #8 yeah that is a buddy I graduated with.  he was racing against kasey kahne.  the kid has a lot of potential but he needs seat time.  he timed fastest on a good many of the time trialed events.  a time trial is where they do a two lap qualifier like nascar does.  he knows how to get around the track the fastest he just needs to learn to move around a lil bit when needed.

Great clips Ben.  We havent started up here yet, just practice/car tuning heats.
The owner of the track passed away last week and there's rumor of it closing up due to insurance or something like that.
I dont see how that could happen, this track is a big money maker.  Its the only form of entertainment around here for miles.
If you type in Penn Can Speedway in the you tube search there's some clips of our track.
