Standing out by the grill tonight cooking up some Yard Bird, and my daughter (11) says why is it thundering but it's not raining?

I said I don't know, but something big is brewing because everything in the sky is going 100 MPH and there's no wind right here at all.

All of a sudden our tornado siren lit up. :holdon: She started sprinting in short circles like a dog looking for a place to crap, and I'm trying to figure out if it's anywhere close, and how bad the Birds gonna burn if I run for the house, which is about 75 yards away. :laf:

The TV stopped coming in, lost all signal, and now the street lights are flickering to boot. Kristee says what are we gonna do?
I said I'm not sure.....I guess wait and see if hell's comin to get us or if we get a free pass this time.
Next thing I know, it's all done  skies are clearing up.

Once the TV came back on they had said a tornado touched down near on of my fishing holes and headed my way. I call my brother who lives couple miles away closer to the river and he had said one of his neighbors just came from my here and seen the tornado so she took pics of it. She was showing them to him when I called. I guess it was about 2 miles from my grill...er uh I mean my house.

So.....the morel of the story, you guys have to put up with me a little longer yet, sorry.  :doh2: :laf:

Dang Jimbo..........glad you is okay.  :shck: :whew:

I remember when my parents lost their house to a tornado a few years back.........it's a scary thing. Four people that I knew died in it.
The only part of the house that wasnt hurt was the room my parents were in........God spared them that time.  :eyebrownod:

Glad to hear everythings ok.  We had the bullseye on us thurs. nite.  Luckily it didn't amount to much.  I've got some good pics from the 1st of the month if I can ever get back into my photobucket. We had a half dozen then.

Glad to hear that it missed you.  I was watching the news tonight and found out that one hit about 30 miles from here.  How was the pigeon?

Glad you're all ok Jim, had some nasty storms move through here yesterday as well.

Good things the chicken is okay and the family...and you too Jimmy :iroll: Well, not necessarily in the order. Maybe the family then the chicken :laf:

It was black here most of the day yesterday, but we hardly got much rain at all where I am.  Other places in the same coounty had baseball games canceled due to rain :wo: I guess it just depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Hey Jim,
Your basement is the place to be in a tornado. Kinda hard to work your grill into the basement though. However you will probably figure out a way to do it now that you've had time to think about it.

vvarmitr

Probably the tornado figured it was no match to Jimbo the Blowhard.  :laf:

Glad it missed you all...  sure hate to see you loose a good chicken !

Like browning, I never knew they had tornaders in Wisconsin.  :shck:
Those things are nothing to screw around with. We've had several around here, it's amazing what damage they can do in just a few seconds.  :shock2:

It's best to be prepared, get you a battle plan worked up... Just in case.

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Jim,

Let's see a picture of that "Yard Bird" that you have your daughter convinced is chicken.  I still think it is squab.
