I like making open reed distress calls so being bored and can't sleep I made this call at 2:00 am . This is butternut with my 1/2 inch delrin open reed distress board. I first put it in BLO then I gave it a couple coats of butchers wax inside and out then I finished it off with carnauba wax.

Thanks. I'm really starting to like the open reed distress better than the jc reeds.

Nice call John. I would think that Butternut is an easy wood to turn. I know it looks nice when it's done.  :congrats: :congrats:

It's real easy to turn but it takes alot of sanding to get it smoothed out. It's as light as styrafoam when it's finished.
