Quote... and got in trouble already for howling...
Al, it sounds like your doing pretty well   :congrats:

I've got a couple of the other ELK coyote howlers, they also use latex bands. I can't make a Power Howler sound worth squat most of the time but the other one I have no problem with. They sound pretty good right out of the package but as the bands get broken in they sound even better (to my ears anyways). Maybe the Copenhagen helps a little bit too   :eyebrownod:

Glad to hear you have that thing under control  :eyebrow: :laf:

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

"I may have to go shoot a bull"
----------------------------------------------------,
My  neighbor's bull  stepped in a groundhog hole last week and broke it's leg, so I had to shoot it. Now it has a broken leg and a gunshot wound. I don't know why you gotta shoot em, I guess it helps the healing process or something. If he don't get better pretty soon, I'm gonna shoot him  again I'll tell ya that much right now.

Stop over at the Cronk house Al. I,ll show ya how to shoot the BULL!

golfertrout,

Open reed horn howlers of buffalo horn are the way to go. Just my humble opinion of course.

This is the one I think Chet is referring to.

Yote Howler

I have this call and it is easy to blow but is not very loud.  In the woods it works fine.  I also have one of Cronk's open reed buffalo horn calls and it is much louder.  Its not hard to blow either and really reaches out there.

Cronks Custom Calls

Disclaimer: I am new to predator calling,  I am not on Cronk's or E.L.K.'s pro staff and your mileage may vary IMHO.
