Spring is slipping in

Up here in Cheese country, the winds are up and the snow piles are getting smaller. The dead brown grass glazes the area like a nuke aftermath, and the temperatures are about as unstable as Bill's Mother in Law.
Spring is slippin in.

How many of you plan to keep hunting when able? How many hang it up and resort to another addicting sport?

I've only had the time to get out calling once all year. Rather disgusting to say the least, but jobs and single parenting requires sacrifices I guess.

Personally I'm going to hope for a few more crisp days that will offer importunity to set in the bush and do some calling. Don't think I've ever only made it out once.

But after that it's gonna be River time

Rick223's got his Jonboat parked in the driveway so we can pull it into my shop one of these days, and were gonna build a live well for it, make some other adjustments and like any other spring or summer, live every spare minute on the river slinging spider wire

I hunt all year round. When I retired a couple of years ago I got into coyote hunting because it was something I could hunt all year round. Keeps me out of the recliner, don't you know!

For me it's gonna be entertaining you all with Diane's groundhog videos. I might bust one or two just to say she didn't shoot em all.

I'm thinking I might try for one with the muzzle loader this summer.

Of course I gotta get thru Spring Gobbler season 1st tho.

I'm slowly switching over to trout fishing, then it will be turkey season. Sometime in there I will hit a couple of cattle sales, then it will be hay time, then firewood, then hay time again, then we'll do combo bow hunting / back to the coyotes.

I will continue to hunt as some of the landowners are already complaining about the coyotes and ya gotta keep them happy. But I did not get to go fishing last year so I will make time for that this year.

Turkey hunting is on the agenda next and I am trying to get Golfertrout talked into it with me!
I have my sights on a half white gobbler if I can get him.

Work, Work for me to. I'll get to turkey hunt 3 mornings and thats all

For the summer its Smallmouth and Walleyes and will definatly hunt the yotes.

Turkey hunt then FISH and FISH some more !!! Gonna do alot more musky only fishing this summer. I gotta catch me one of them big boys outta the river.

I will continue to hunt coyotes,ground hogs,and I will try for a gobbler.I will do some fishing with Chris
and hope to get some in the freezer this year

Jim would you please tell Mother Nature That Spring is upon us So we can get some warmer temps

With all this global warming it should be atleast in the 60's

I'll keep hunting coyotes till the temperature and/or bugs make it too miserable.

Then I'll think about hunting them until it cools off enough to start again.

I will hunt yotes a few more times ,then off to Turkey hunting ,then shoot bow all summer ,go to the range with Ar some ,then on to bow hunting deer ,then back to yotes.

I've had to change jobs a couple months ago and it's really cut into my time off. I might get one or two more hunts in before the skeeters take over the woods. But I'm kinda getting the fishing bug again now. Them big stripers will be running up the river soon.

Just bring that boat down here. We are flooded again. Started to go down yesterday, but the low parts of town still have water. The park (down by the river) only has water about half way up to the roof now, but is better than it was Thursday when you could only see the top of the shelter houses.

I've just about hung up the coyote gear for this season. Up next is turkey season. Then the summer will be filled with riding the harley. When fall comes around, it'll be pheasant/quail season up first, then some coyotes with some duck/goose hunting mixed in hopefully.

Some of the spring runs are starting right now and I am ready to take at least one day and relax on a river bank somewhere. Even if all I catch are skipjack. At least I will have some time away from dragging brush out of everything on the place. Danged fencerows are a wreck. Jimmie
