New guy here... but have conversed with many of ya'll at one time or another.

Semp gave me a heads up on this site and I've lurked around off & on for the last few days... so I decided to register.

I'm fairly new to yote hunting but I've had a little success thanks to some good advice of several. I'm about a 20 minute drive from LBL and have basically hunted there all my life. I got into yote hunting last winter and will admit its about as addictive of a hunting sport I've ever experienced. I though bowhunting deer or turkey hunting was bad but ... this predator hunting is a whole different extreme. I truely enjoy it but still have a lot to learn.

Just wanted to say hello.

Welcome Neighbor and welcome to the addiction :yoyo:

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

I owe a lot for the advice I've received from the likes of Semp ...JimmyinKy....LBLDOG....weedwalker & several others. They pretty much gave me an internet crash course on coyote hunting. Honestly.... I'd still be "chasin my tail" trying to kill a yote at LBL if it were not from some words of wisdom from jimmy. I was hard headed but when it sunk in... its made my hunting there more productive.

I've still got some learning to do... but I consider myself in good company.

Again.... thanks for the welcome.

Hey JD

Thanks for the kind words but I'm no where near the caliber of predator hunter as those folks you lumped me in with.    :nono:  They are far beyond me.   :eyebrownod:

And Jimmie in KY helped me a GREAT deal getting started.  He's Da Man at LBL.   :eyebrownod:  Always willing to help a new guy.

Calling Jimmie in Ky the man is like calling Tiger Woods a golfer.  :innocentwhistle:

Jimmie in Ky had each one of the coyotes named in the LBL.  :eyebrownod:

You just stick with him when you get up there and watch your learning curve increase exponentially.  :yoyo:

It's about time ya showed up here JD. My off seasn runs untl frost comes and evens the odds a bit.I was intending to make a run up through the LBL on saturday and see how bad thoings were in some of my favorite haunts . But my time and stomache dictated otherwise. We went to the arts and crafts show at Grand rivers.

And if ya believe in all the bull these guys spreadI have some beach front property at Murphy's Pond I will sell cheap.  :eyebrownod: Jimmie

I'm not telling you anything you probably dont already know..... southern southern parts of 8 & 9 ...most of 10....are'nt as bad as the remainder of the KY side. I've either spring turkey hunted , yote hunted or getting ready to bowhunt in areas 4,5,6 & 7.....since the ice storm... their a mess.

In my opinion... the getting to your old haunts is not the real problem. Its when you leave your vehicle things get complicated. Very..very.. hard to navigate some of the places I use old logging roads to get into. Most places that were pretty open timber & draws ....visability is very limited.

The last yote I killed a couple weeks ago... tough to see anything approach and even harder to pick a hole. Going to be a up-close & personal yote hunting experience for awhile.  It may discourage a few hunters but the yotes are definitely there.

That might be a good thing in a way though. Set still, set still and still still.
And make sure your packing a shotgun :eyebrow:

I can handle the up close and personal, as long as it's one at a time. It's the groups coming in that make it a bit hairy. I figured it looks just like my place. I have weeds and honey suckle growing where they have never grown before since I have owned this place. I have a great pyrinese mutt and can lose him over a good deal of the woods here now, and him just twenty yards away. All I can see of the beagle ande cocker is weeds moving. I may make a scouting trip or two with you and Ed but I won't get serious about hunting up there until we get a killing frost. Those smart aleck varmints are too well educated as it is.  :eyebrownod: Jimmie
