Isn't funny how people get so excited about shooting an Ohio buck.     :laf:

And a small Ohio buck at that!

Ohio is known for the Goliath venison monsters it produces. I'd be excited too

While I can't speak for V.V. I can give you the explanation for my reply.  The deer in the picture had a massive rack - thus I took V.V. post as "an Ohio buck" to mean that it was a normal thing for Ohio.  O.K. there are some really big bucks in Ohio, but that one was really nice and not a normal thing to have happen (every day for every hunter) in Ohio.  So, I took it that V.V. was making a joke that, things like this always happen in Ohio.   That is the reason that I posted "a small Ohio buck at that" going along with the idea that the massive racked buck in the picture would be looked at as a small buck in Ohio.

Maybe Bill is just doing a better job of throwing off the other buck hunters who will read this post and come to Ohio to kill our bucks.  SO (pun intended here), if you are not from Ohio please disregard the part about the size of the buck in the picture compared to the ones in Ohio.  Ohio only has button bucks and as soon as they start to mature they leave the state, never to return again.

Ok Jerry fessed up so I guess I will too  :laf:

In Ohio you will need to be somewhat closer then 65 yards to put down one our small but tougher bucks with #4 at 65 yards    Oh wait a cotton pickin minute don't get caught doing that in Ohio  :nofgr: :nofgr: ya might get a bit more then you bargained for

Sorry Dave to  you.
I jest whenever someone gets a big rack saying it came from Ohio.
Like Jerry said our deer have pathetically small racks here in Ohio & that is why we are know as the Buckeye State because we are more interested  if they have nice eyes.  :innocentwhistle:
