The squirrels ruined my coon hunt!

I went out this morning to try and call some raccoons. No coons showed, but the squirrels were running everywhere, so the game changed.

I got a limit using my son's Ruger 10/22.


I may try again tomorrow.

Squirrels will probably taste a little better than a coon.

Saweeet! we used to eat coon all time when I was a kid.

Roast coon tastes like pork, but you need to remove as much of the fat before cooking. The only squirrel I have tried was pine squirrel and thought they tasted like turpentine. Eating squirrels that feed on corn and mast crops should taste better, I believe.
