NY state guys.. got some ???'s

Any of yall been to Darrien Lake or know the area ?  The wife wants to go there next summer, I refuse to go unless there's something other than "theme park" I can do, I'm just not into rides and crowds. 

Places nearby to go fishing ?  I did contact the park itself and was informed I could fish the lake right there, that will work for the first day or two. 

Anything else up that way I can do ???   We plan on camping, so there's some beer drinkin by the fire time I enjoy
