I think my group will be in Aurora again this year. The guys are getting kind of spoiled with the indoor plumbing and full kitchen.

Got mine a couple weeks ago.

That's the good thing about Aurora the government if it shuts down won't effect your stay!
That and not having to leave the room at night to shower or go to the crapper or use the phone.

I'll be there late Sunday afternoon, to start hunting Monday morning.

Good luck and friendship to you all.
Don't look like I will make it again this year, Tell everone a big Howdy from Fuzzy
Now that I am semi retired, I was hoping to be able to start going again. In my new part time job, there are work dates that aren't flexible. Every February there are 4 mandatory meetings so it doesn't look like I can make it for the next 4 years at least unless there is a place close by with decent cell or wifi. :sad3:

Aurora has good cell service and some of the places to stay have Wi-Fi.

Could be a plan for next year then. I only need about 30 minutes for a meeting at 9 or 10 am friday.
Thanks for the pics Weedwalker.
I really liked the LBL. I like that the terrain is fairly flat. Makes for kind of easy walking.
The guns apoppin n the yotes are droppin !
Man looks like ya put the hammer on that one in The first pic
Love that hardwood country, but have never gotten to hunt anything in it.. Am envious of y'all.
Coming down Saturday
Not going to hunt but want to see yall

This I totally understand.
Wow the coyotes are laying down nicely for you fellows and I can say I feel honored to recognize the people putting the smackdown on ,em.
Those guys have done really good! It's hard to kill a coyote on LBL.
Lineman Steve and I left early we hunted hard for 3 days from daylight till dark and only cut one set of fresh tracks and only found a few old scat piles.
Running coyotes with dogs is ruining LBL they are putting a Hugh dent in the population! In a few yrs if they continue to allow it I believe you will be wasting your time to go.
I sent email to them with my concerns and would suggest others do the same before it's to late. Coyotes don't have a very good chance with fresh dogs being put on them and it's not fair to the other people who pay there hunting permit fee for them to get to allow there dogs to run all over the no hunting zones and drive them out to be shot.

I've called in 5 so far.

You did good Ed! From my trip I saw a Hugh decline in the numbers, I always see them early in the mornings crossing fields and see several dead along the road. Not a one this yr, but I did get to see and hear the hound hunters.
Time will tell, but I'm betting in the next few yrs the numbers will tell the truth?

We had a good trip & a lot of fun again on the LBL!! Always a good time with good Friends. We seen 2 coyotes ourselves whilst driving. One was in a no hunting zone. Those coyotes are so educated now they can apparently read the words "NO HUNTING ZONE". I'll be back next year as long as I'm able to do it!
On a side note,, there were a few missing faces. God speed to those that couldn't attend. Your presence was missed by many!!
We called in 1 and saw 1 hog

I'm completely embarrassed that I let this thread slip past me like this. :doh2: I planned to watch this and root for you all as I begged for photos. So much for THAT theory uh? :rolleye:
FWIW...I am glad it went off without a hitch, and that everyone made it home safe.
Any objections to me using the three pics that got posted on the LBL Site (https://lblhunt.com/)...does anyone have any others that we can add?
Jim, you can use mine. I don't mind.

Once again, when it comes to the hunting Weedwalker proves himself to be an exceptionally good coyote caller. Good thread but I would enjoy more.
Thanks Okanagan, I was just lucky enough to be in the right place with the right sounds.
Sent from my moto g power (XT2041DL) using Tapatalk
Weedwalker is not just lucky. He is the Yote Magnet! If they are close enough to hear him, they are coming. :readthis:
Thanks y'all. Ended up calling in 6. Semp killed 2, wounded one we couldn't find. I killed 1 and, uh, and uh, missed one at 8 yards. [emoji849] And one ran by out of range with no shot.

Hey Jim
Here is a couple more pics from LBL if you want them.
What's the 411 on those calls hanging around your neck?
Yotehunter , Critrcall, Haydel, and Primos mostly. The others are on for ballast and get regularly swapped out depending on my mood. :eyebrownod:
I hunted with Weedwalker most of the time and he did 95% of the calling so I was lugging around extra weight. :laf: The LBL coyotes like Weedwalker.
I did pick most of the spots we called at though. We got lucky a few times.
Thanks Ed and Johnny.
Just got done adding those pics. Thanks for sharing them.
I have a giant lanyard full of calls and use the same two or three most of the time. From my observations of weedwalker he is a Coyote Jedi.

My most used calls are a Pee Wee Crit'R call for rabbit distress, the green Lil Dog for pup distress, and a Yotehunter call from Brad.
Rabbit distress and pup distress is about all I use.
One thing I've noticed about pup distress, they're less likely to circle the wind and will most times come straight in on you from any direction.

The first one I ever called in was with a Johnny Stewart rabbit squealer. I blew on it for about 15 minutes think I was going to call anything in said the hell with this went back to my truck got in it looked over to where I had been previously sitting and a big old yellow coyote popped out of the brush about 10 feet from where I've been sitting ! :argh:
Yeah there's a lot of times I wonder if anything came in after I get up and leave. I don't usually stay more than about 20 minutes.

Hardly ever. Hand calls 99% of the time. About the only time I use my foxpro is if I'm hunting wide open coal strip jobs. But I prefer to stay inside the woods.
