Post by: golfertrout on January 10, 2010, 07:25:56 PM
i talked to Al today and he said he was having heart palpatations and was not feeling good, i talked to my wife about it[she is a nurse] and she said he should see a doctor. so he text me later and said they admitted him. Al has been a very good friend to me and i hope he is ok. i was hoping for some prayers for him.

prayers do work guys. last year at this time i was in a battle for my life, i was diagnosed with kidney cancer and they would not do the surgery there so i was rushed to Ohio state university and had surgery. once they opened me up in surgery they seen that i had blood clots in my stomach and legs, they tried to repair the vein but it was to far gone, and it took them 2 hours to make a plan and they decided they had to tie off my inferior veina cava vein[the main vein that pumps blood from your legs to your heart]. so now i dont have good circulation in my legs, but at least i can still walk for now. when i got out of the hospital someone noticed my vent ridge on my house was loose and Al came out and fixed it and i sure was glad i had a good friend to help me out. i had alot of peps tell me i was on there prayer list at church and they was praying for me so i am a believer. we are praying for you Al

I talked to Al this evening too. Like Dave said he aint feelin no pain.  :nono:  We were only on the phone for 5 minutes & that call about wore him out. Tomorrow should yield more info to start figuring things out. The Dr did already tell him he is done with cigs & caffeine. I hope he takes the advice.  :yoyo:

When I told him about all the well wishes from you guys he wanted me to tell you all Thanks. The only other thing he said was "Oh yeah!! Tell Bopeye to BITE ME!!"   :roflmao: :roflmao:

I hope his patient emails get delivered.   Heart scans are a scarey reason to be in the hospital.  Just knowing you have a ton of friends pulling for you is a huge comfort.

I have had 300+ pics taken of my heart and got to run on the tread mill with a Dr and a few Nurses at my side
It is a scarey position to be in,cause you get to go back to your room and lay there and wait for the test results,if your lucky you will fall asleep and time seems to pass a little better that way.

The reason for 300 pics it took that many to just find my heart  :laf:
I thought I would say cause I know some of you were thinking it  :roflmao:

Bill,

If you have to have it done again just think of taking your grandson out hunting and your heart will be WAY to easy for them to find.   Heck, we can all see your chest starting to swell just thinking about it.

They ran a lot of tests yesterday. Now he has to wait for the results. He is carrying on with the nurses & coping with things. His spirits are still up & he joked a little yesterday. As long as he's in a good mood things will go better & he said to tell everybody Thanks for the well wishes thoughts & prayers.

Al it's good to see ya on here dude! That ol' ticker is an important piece of equipment. After my heart attack - then open heart with five by passes and a valve job - 15 caths and five stints since December of 1997 I know. I've been running on about 60% of one every since. I know it put me on my arsh. The doc said if I wanted to stick around a while I had to quit the smokes, lose some weight, and get rid of all the stress factors. Put the smokes down but, I'm  still fat & married. You take care of yourself dude ... we'll be pulling for ya ...

Funny story about how I passed the time......

My blood pressure would drop and my heart rate could be 56 then 5 min. later it would be 110 just laying still
(http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh123/alscalls/hospital5.jpg)

At the hospital I was being rushed from one test to another...... :rolleye:  Rushed my butt.....everyone of them requires that you sit in some cold hallway and wait for what seemed like hours....
They have these transport folks that come and get you and wheel you around in a wheel chair and you aint allowed to walk on your own or they get real upset with ya.... :hahaha:
One woman in particular took me to several of these tests and she was the one who recognized me from facebook and got my E-mails sent to me....
I was heavily sedated and quite out of my mind which is not new to me........it was just more of the same......
As I am out of my mind on my own with out any help..... :laf:
When she arrived on wed. to take me for a test I was posing for a pic to send to Bopeye...... :roflmao: :roflmao:
With a flower behind my ear my daughter put there while I was asleep... :hahaha:
She helped me remove all the wires and hoses.......
When this little box lit up they would really give me some attention for a couple of hours .....and some cool drugs.... :hahaha:
And the things on my legs that squeezed the blood from my legs to keep from getting a blood clot.....
My face was swollen due to some of the meds and as I said I was on a LOT of meds.....

We were on our way down the narrow hallway when three women walked out in front of us and was walking very slowly....
I grinned and pointed my finger at one of thier butts and asked the transport lady to hurry as I was gonna goose one of them....Knowing me some she smiled and started to hurry and just before touching the unsuspecting woman.......she asked quietly  "how do you know her?" I said   "I dont"  and finished my random poking with a belly full of laughter..... :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: She coulda killed me right then....... :innocentwhistle:

The next trip she arrived again and said I tried to get out of taking your ornery ass but I drew the short straw..... :laf: :laf:
So she took me to the front desk to sighn me out and parked me right behind a beautiful blond nurse working on a computer standing with her back to me......As I reached for my now famous finger and leaned forward in the chair I heard this transport lady yell........" Put that finger down or I will break it!!!  "      I did not and she did not either..... :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
I only seen her one more time but I never waited long in a hallway as they worried who would be my next victim..... :eyebrow:
Hey ya gotta make yer own fun when your down ya know....... :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

We all could have Cathryn. My desk looks like someone spilled chili on it. The cat tore holes in the carpet trying to get away as he shrieked and bolted from the room. And I swear I even heard some of the neighbors screaming.
